43 and a heartbreak

Hi dear All,

I am 43. No live children. Never had fertility issues (did elective termination at 22 yo after conceiving while on contraceptives).

I naturally conceived and had a stillbirth at 39. TTC since. PTSD since. 8 IVF since. And one painful miscarriage on my 41 birthday.

I only recently found my dear partner has high DNA fragmentation levels never diagnosed in our IVF journey.

I have normal for age yet low ovarian reserve.

Experiencing stillbirth left me with a thin endometrial lining, but I conceived with 7mm.

I was recently diagnosed with adenomyosis.

I am a therapist and scientist and used up all I have to research on the matter. Like many of us, I reached the point where science and medicine failed to advance yet. I can't bring myself to use a donor. Sometimes I wish I could.

I turn to you, beautiful, strong, and wise women (even if you don't always feel like one); please, can you share any new frontier treatment that worked for you?

Any over 42 against the odds success stories will be immensely appreciated. ..

Sorry to hear about everything you’ve been through. I don’t unfortunately, I wish I did. I switched to a mild IVF protocol after a disastrous first cycle and seem to get better results with it... I’m doing embryo batching, about to start my third cycle. Good luck. It’s such a difficult thing to go through x

Thanks, Sara. For me, it was either long agonist or antagonist with a double trigger that increased the amount significantly. I wish you good luck and loads of strength.

So sorry for your loss and everything you have been through.

I am 41 and gave birth a few weeks ago after several IVF miscarriages. We had 3 rounds of IVF, always producing day 5 embryos. Before our final round my husband had DNA defrag testing and they found he had an infection. He had a course of antibiotics and the mega vitamins recommended. I also had treatment for NK cells which you have probably looked into? Due to the DNA defragmentation we had ICSI, and I also had a scratch. We will never know for sure what worked this time but my gut feeling is that my husband’s sperm was the issue and addressing the defragmentation made the difference. So it might be worth looking into if you can bring yourself to try again. It’s so incredibly hard. I wish you strength and love in whatever you decide.

Thank you so much ByTheSeaCatsandAll, can you please share what 'mega vitamins' he took?
Thanks again

He had a consultation with Johnathon Ramsey who recommended Proceive Max and also to try and eat a diet rich in antioxidants foods. Watercress, kale, berries etc. I think he may also have taken extra vitamin C. And he also took ubiquinol. And no alcohol or caffeine.

Like I said we’ll never know what made the difference, or whether at our age it was just a numbers game. But I think it made me feel better knowing we ‘threw the book at it’ and tried everything we could. All very expensive though 😩

Wishing all the best x
