Hello - I have booked a hycosy for the end of the month (annoyingly the consultant is away for 2 weeks at easter so can only do it AFTER ovulation so means missing a month)

I will be maybe 8-10dpo depending on if I ovulate as usual, but I can start spotting from 9ish dpo.

My question is can you have a hycosy if you are spotting?

I would have thought so, I had a follicle count on my period, as you have to have it whilst on your period. I had mine cd2 and that's a similar procedure as in the way they do it with the probe ( I've had 2 hycosys so happy to answer any questions you may have )

But hycosy I think they just don't do it late on in your cycle incase you're pregnant
I'm surprised they do them that late? Do they say to not have unprotected sex then?

X

Thanks @strawberrysummer19 yep they said dont even have sex this month just incase of pregnancy. But we decided a break of ttc for a month might be good for my stress levels after so long of ttc haha!

Ooh thank you! What painkillers did you take before hand? I know some people say it really hurts and then others say it doesnt

@Annny27 ah I see well at least they aren't not doing it I guess.

I took paracetamol 1 hour before
The first one 10 yrs ago when ttc ( got pregnant that cycle !) I remember feeling uncomfortable but that's because I was so so nervous

2nd one a few months ago ( and since having natural childbirth with no pain relief haha ) it was better and had no uncomfortable feeling
I was more relaxed as I knew what to expect and not much more uncomfortable than a smear I'd say
Just pressure when they ran the dye but no pain
The set up took longer than the procedure itself
I was in and out within 20 mins so that's one way to look at it
Be over before you know it
The build up is worse
I felt sick all day afterwards which I didn't have last time but was gone the next day x
