PCOS fertility clinic

Hi ladies,

I've been TTC for more than 2 years now. I have PCOS. I'm very depressed. I don't know what to do. I went to see the fertility hospital in September 2019. Because I was overweight, they told me to lose weight and come back. I started losing weight, then Covid hit. And I put back what I lost.
I am now looking into private fertility clinic. I first want to try an ovulation induction. Does anyone has any success story ? And what clinic did you go to ?
I have in mind 3 clinics, the Lister Fertility Clinic, the Herts and Essex fertility clinic and the Thames Valley Fertility clinic. Has anyone had success with these clinics? They mostly have positive reviews but it's reviews from patients that had IVF treatment. And I saw few reviews that claimed that some clinics were pushing towards IVF for financial gains.
Does anyone had any luck with just medication provided by fertility clinic. As I'm overweight I can't get fertility drugs through NHS.

Thank you ladies for your help.

I've just read a pretty scathing review on here about Thames Valley Fertility. I also don't think they do Ovulation Induction, only an IUI.

Weight should not be a barrier to getting treatment.

Re your comment who told you this:-
"As I'm overweight I can't get fertility drugs through NHS".

I think you were advised wrongly here by that particular person. Are you still under the NHS or do you just want to go private now?. I would do your research with care before you part with your hard earned cash; some private treatment is actually poor as well as expensive. Ask lots of questions and treatments and do not get suckered in solely by nicer surroundings. It is imperative that you as a couple and the fertility clinic can communicate openly and work as a team.

Both of you should be tested in tandem, its no point in testing you solely or to test him only at a later date. If you are prescribed clomid you need to be monitored whilst on it (through both blood tests and internal ultrasound scans ideally) otherwise you have no idea whether its working or not. Educate yourself further re PCOS as this will help you when it comes to making treatment decisions.

Hi @AttilaTheMeerkat

Apparently you need to have a bmi of 30 or lower to be eligible for NHS treatment. I'm more than that.
