We are about to start our 3rd round of ivf/icsi and have been given the option of using clexane injections this time, does anybody have any experience with these? I have never been prescribed them before.
I have one son via natural conception and one via ivf
Thanks

Hi @Bells87 my clinic give Clexane as standard so I've used it before in one fresh cycle and one FET. I also did one IVF cycle on NHS so didn't use it then.

I think it's one of those things that can't hurt (unless you have specific conditions but presumably you don't if they recommended it!) so no harm in trying.

It's a bit stingy and can leave a bruise but not a bad injection really. The syringes are pre-loaded so that makes life easier too.

I took clexane with all 5 rounds of IVF and also 2 pregnancies - I found them easy to do once got the hang of them - can cause a bit of bruising and if you are on them long term nosebleeds

I've done them, they get less and less painful the more you do and you'll learn how not to bruise yourself. However I ended up with quite a few bruises regardless. Good luck!

We did it for round 1. But god they hurt! I have a decent pain threshold and my fiancé is a great nurse / super experienced at giving injections but eugh
