Natural modified IVF March/April

Hi all, anyone doing or starting natural modified IVF end of march / April?

I have just finished all tests and consultations and am starting end of March. I have been prescribed tomaxifen and bemfola.

This is my 4th cycle - but doing natural modified for the first time. So am not new to the dance but I am trying not to think about the cycle at all, don't know what to think without raising expectations unnecessarily.

Anyone else done natural modified cycle?

Wow I was just about to post something similar to this!

Are you doing this on the NHS? And how come you switched to natural modified?

We haven't started yet (fingers crossed for April, but perhaps too optimistic)... but I was wondering if it would be strange to ask my consultant about mild IVF. We are only doing this because of male factor issues and I am terrified of the effects of the hormones on me (as I currently have no known issues); especially the 'down regulating'. I was wondering if they would be open to a conversation about it, even though we're not with a private clinic.

I switched to natural modified and gave birth to twins in January - best decision I ever made having had 2 previous failed cycles and 3 transfers x

Hi will be doing my third mild IVF cycle towards the end of this month, EC beginning April. I’ve been doing embryo banking and hoping for FET end of May. Prior to doing this I did a short protocol with maximum stims and got rubbish results. Results much better on mild IVF. Just hope we get one embryo that works. We’re doing our cycles with Create x

@AnonymousXXIX

I am doing this privately. I did three cycles on NHS after finding out about my blocked tubes. Good results but embryos didn't implant. And they didn't offer to do any investigations or tests, it's more like a factory line model. They do the same treatment for every one, if it works great - otherwise too bad.

So we decided to switch to private. Did all our tests, thankfully all ok.

I did ask NHS consultant about mild or natural, they actually wanted to increase stimulation although the best quality embryos I had was in lower dose cycle. I was told they don't do mild or natural, this was at UHCW CRM - no harm in asking. I would say definitely ask your consultant.

The switch to natural modified was suggested by the private consultant after looking at results of past 3 cycles and a detailed ultrasound to look at ovaries, follicles and womb lining etc.

Luckily I didn't suffer too much with the drugs, but if it will work with less - definitely better. So do ask your consultant.

Good luck...

@Sara279

🤜 ...I am with create as well. Are you with the Birmingham clinic? I m seeing Dr. Felix. Though I did see Dr Dutta in the beginning for my ultrasound.

My EC would be early April as well. I m doing the same treatment as you looks like, gotta do 3 cycles of EC, bank embryos, genetic testing followed by down regulation and then FET. I have been told I have adenomyosis, so better chance of implantation after downregulation.

Do you have embryos banked so far? Good luck...I hope you get kickass embryos this time around which can implant well.

Fingers crossed for all of us...

Ladies, has anyone else used tamoxifen during their treatment?

I have heard about lots of women facing severe nausea during IVF and this is a new drug I'll be using. Wondering if anyone else had any side effects.
