New to all of this...

When I was younger I had a mis diagnosed appendicitis which was left and caused it to rupture, I think the surgery for this may have caused blocked tubes, as I have been off contraception for 4 years and not got pregnant.

I am just starting the fertility testing process, I have had a phone call consultation with my GP and had my blood tests done which came back as normal, my partner is waiting for an appointment for testing at the moment.

I was just wondering if anyone has any idea on how long it takes for me to have all of my tests done, how long the waiting time for referral to the ivf clinic is (if needed) and how long the current wait for ivf treatment is, with COVID delays I’m assuming it’s longer than normal but can’t get much information from my GP.

Thank you xxx

It’s just so difficult waiting and feels like forever. I’m just hoping my phone appt in January is where they refer me to ivf so we can get the ball rolling.

Does anyone have any other tips whilst waiting on what can improve chances of conception. I’m currently taking some supplements and doing some abdominal massage that helps improve blood flow. I have started to go for acupuncture and she mentioned I have coldness, damp and inflammation in my body so she’s working with that and mentioned once the body is in balance then it’s easier to conceive. So I’m hoping whilst I’m waiting I get some positive news.

Often the wait is getting NHS funding confirmed, but if you are happy to pay for treatment then you can usually start pretty soon.
