IVF - BMI

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has had IVF in the uk with a high BMI.
Most hospitals say you cannot have IVF with a BMI of over 35 maximum.
I was wondering if anyone has had a different experience anywhere else or if it's the same across the board.
Thank you Smile

Private clinics are less strict and the cut off is a bit higher

Unlikely on the NHS as high BMI unfortunately really reduces success rates.

Private clinics will happily take your money with a higher BMI.

Hi @geegee89

I've got a higher BMI of 37 and will be starting IVF at a private clinic in London soon. I'm over 40 and have struggled with loosing enough weight for a few years (have lost some) and because of my age we want to start IVF ASAP. I'm obviously aware of the reduced success rates and increased risks and ideally I would have liked to have a lower BMI.
