My only embryo - negative FRER

That's it really. I caved and tested with a FRER at 8dp3dt. No one gets a negative if they're pregnant at this stage. I guess I need to try and find the funds for another round of IVF! Is there any point in attending the HCG blood test? Feeling quite sad and guilty because I can't do what most people can do naturally. Infertility is so unfair! 😔

Bless you. It's hard and totally normal to feel this way- I failed my first cycle a few months ago. I would still test on OTD as sometimes it does only show up a little later.
Look after yourself, it's s* and you're allowed to feel like this. But don't feel guilty or feel that this is somehow your fault- you've done nothing to cause this! Infertility is unfair and can affect anyone for any number of reasons, none of which you have done anything to cause.
Take some time away from social media too if you use it apart from perhaps following some infertility accounts/groups on Facebook and Instagram where people will know what you're going through.
. Take the time you need before thinking of what next- if on OTD not successful get a review with your consultant to see what they think might improve your chances next time if you want another round. Most people aren't successful first time.
Thinking of you xx

Thank you for replying @Roo45. I'm so sorry to hear about your first cycle. It's so unfair. I think I do need to remove myself from social media as seeing all these celeb updates about pregnancies is gutting.

I guess I have to prepare myself for the 2nd round. I suppose IVF is a game of luck really. I just hate how it's taken over my life!

@ohsheglows sending you such big hugs, as this was a 3 day embryo you’re at around 11dpo, and I think they normally recommend testing at 12-14 dpo, sometimes people only get a positive OTD, so there’s some hope still. I am an early tester too, I started testing from 4dp5dt in my recent FET, and I just knew it hadn’t worked at an early point.

I’ve had a fresh and a frozen transfer, both unsuccessful I thought this would be how I would finally get a positive test (I’ve never even had a hint of a second line), but so far it hasn’t worked. So many people on here have positive stories about how it took multiple attempts and they say we just have to keep trying. Flowers

I don't want to give you false hope but I got a negative on the morning of 8dp5dt. First faint positive that evening, so you are testing early and there is some point retesting.

You're right though, infertility is so unfair and I'm sorry you're going through it Flowers

@Gardenlady543 thank you for your reply. I'm really sorry to hear about your past 2 transfers. I guess that's all we've got to do isn't it - just keep trying. I'm just feeling very despondent with it all and I'm not feeling much hope for the future. Lots to think about!

Thank you @Yokey. I know it's still fairly early but you'd usually see a hint of a line at 11dpo and it was stark white ☹️ I'll keep testing though in case of a sheer miracle!

@ohsheglows sending you hugs Flowers I mean I just knew during my cycle it hasn’t worked, and it ended up being the toughest time. By the time it was OTD I was feeling a bit happier, as I could start planning for the future again and get off the medications that were making me ill.

It all seems very unfair, but I mean how much more grateful will we be when it ends up finally happening! After all the injections, medications, side effects, procedures etc.

I hope if it does end up as a no go on the OTD, that you can speak with your specialist and get a new plan in place for the future ASAP. Flowers
