Hey all. Just wondering if anyone has been in a
Similar situation,
Me and my partner have been TTC for about 18months-2 years now. I've got two DC from previous relationship nearly 13 and a 9 year old. He also has a DD 8. We have tried to get caught naturally doing opks taking vitamins etc etc. I had quite severe endometriosis which I've just had my 3rd laparoscopy in august 2020 and have been told by my gynaecologist that everything my side is absolutely fine and good to go.
My DP on the other hand contacted his gp and told him exact problems with ttc and the gp suggested a Semen test. He gave sample 2
Weeks ago now, results were back at gp within a week. When he called for results the receptionist wouldn't give him the results at all, she could see them on the screen but says it's all 'gobbledygook' to her. He now received a letter from gp to state to make an appointment with him to discuss results... this doesn't sound like good news does it? He has since phoned and reception said the nearest appointment will be two Weeks away 😵 My DP when he 'done' the sample said it looked very watery and showed it to me sorry tmi but I don't know really how it's meant to look in a pot 🙊

Anyway sorry for the long post.. but has anyone got any success stories or any positive stories? Surely if the results were fine the receptionist wouldn't mind giving them out and the GP would have no need to discuss? We are desperate to know.. it's been so hard.
TIA xx

Hi @namechange222777, I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble.
In our case, myself and my partner always needed an GP appointment to discuss results, even when everything was fine, so it might just be process.

Sorry I can't help further but I wouldn't worry too much. Good luck!

Hi! Yes we also always need an appointment to discuss results, whether good or bad. The receptionist may have just been confused because it's a sheet full of numbers and if you don't know what they mean you can't make much of it. Anyway if it is your first result, whether good or bad, it is good to have an appointment just so you can ask questions about all these numbers. Make sure you get a copy of it as well! I am sorry it is taking them so long though, that makes no sense and is really frustrating :(

Okay thank you both. Fingers crossed for good news x

We have had an email as DP was getting very anxious about it all. The count is very low.. under 20 million but we haven't got exact figures. He has to now go pick up another sample pot to do a second sample to compare. I've asked him to get a print out whilst he's there of the results. This isn't great news, I'm trying to stay positive though.x

I am sorry @namechange222777 : ( But the question is how far under 20 million, and what's up with them! We had an initial result of under 2 million so it can be waaaay worse. Stay calm and investigate further.

@namechange222777 When will your husband do the repeat test? Normally the repeat semen analysis should be 3 months later as that's how long new sperm take to grow.

In terms of sperm count, I think 15 million per ml is the cutoff, so if he is above that it should be OK? Also there are other values that are quite important too, like motility and morphology.

Repeat test given in yesterday. They wanted it pretty fast which is worrying. Will keep you all updated x
