2AA Embryo grade

Hi all. This is our first round of IVF and out of 23 eggs we only have 2 embryos in the freezer (FET planned next month due to OHSS). One is a grade 4AB frozen on day 6. One is a 2AA frozen on day 5. The clinic says the 2AA is really strong and the one that they will use first. I'm a bit confused as I thought a 2 wasn't very good? They say it's good quality but just wondering what other people's experiences of this is? Thanks 😊

@roxyfoxy89 this explains the grading really well, ormfertility.com/fertility/embryo-grading/

In the grading system they’ve used to grade yours, the number refers to the degree of expansion.

Grading can help pick the best embryo but it really doesn’t mean that much. It doesn’t tell you if it’s a euploid embryo. In addition, I’ve had my embryos in the embryoscope, some of the worst graded embryos ended up with better scores than the best grades ones.

Many people on here have had success with poorly grades embryos. Equally people like me have had no success with the best possible quality. My recent FET was a 1,1 fully hatched 10/10 - the equivalent of 6AA... no success.

Embryos are so complicated, I just trust the embryologist to use their experience to select the best one. I’ve also decided to do Pgt-A testing after an unsuccessful fresh and frozen cycle.
