Anyone used Aviva private insurance for fertility investigations?

Hello,

I wanted to ask if anyone has Aviva Private Medical Insurance and has used the 'investigations into infertility' option within the policy? I'm wondering what the boundaries of their coverage are and if it matters that we've already started some investigations with the NHS?

@Luz192 it will depend on your policy. I’m with vitality and they specifically say infertility investigations and treatments aren’t covered. However my bupa cashback covers investigations up to about £500, so I claimed back the cost of my ultrasound scan and initial consultation. I’d get the investigations done privately if I were you to speed things up, but I guess if depends on the timescales of your nhs clinic.

@Gardenlady543 thank you - that's interesting to know re: Bupa. The Aviva policy wording does say it covers 'in full', however I'm unsure if they have requirements like if you've started with NHS they don't cover, etc. Wanted to try find out before I reach out to them! We've actually had most of the investigations done via NHS, but there are some that they don't cover, e.g. sperm DNA or immune investigations that would be ideal to have covered.
