ARGC - Anyone refuse Immune Tests??

Hi All,

We are about to start our journey with ARGC, but wondering if anyone else refused the immune / Chicago tests? We are new to IVF and have had no attempts or failed attempts before so I don't think it is very necessary. Also, I genuinely have not heard of a first hand account where women either
A - tested safely in nk levels and therefore didn't need the expensive treatment OR
B - said no that they didn't want to test for immunes.

I have heard that where testing has taken place... When the mother tests fine at first instance, they retest before implantation and suddenly nk cells have raised... Or vice versa... That they are told from the get go the nk cells are high and so must begin the costly additions.

I don't want to come across too pessimistic, we really ARE keen to go with the process that they advise and know their success rates speak for themselves.

However, it would be truly helpful to understand it a bit more... And ANY help or experiences you have had would be invaluable if you could share....

Huge thanks in advance

We did an FET cycle with ARGC with the whole immune treatment. Yes, it's really expensive as you have to send bloods to Chicago every 4 weeks (once you're pregnant) on top of that you need to be treated for it if the blood results are raised. So it's on repeat every 4 weeks until they release you at 21 weeks or if you have 2 normal blood results. I do have to admit ARGC is very thorough and check everything before treatment so it might seem excessive with all the blood works. Our first FET was successful and we have a wonderful little boy so they must be doing something right.

Just thinking about having #2 now and wondering the same as you...has anyone refused the immune treatment and what was the outcome.

Hey ladies,

just wondered if you both ended up going with no immunes and your outcomes? I have just started with argc and gut is saying no to the immunes

thanks so much

hello - also keen to find out if this is an option. in my initial consultation, the dr seemed to be very much "if you decide you want to go ahead with the immune testing" rather than "we won't treat you if you don't". not sure if that's because i'm 40, have a 3 year old (natural pregnancy) and seem to mostly have an issue with getting a quality embryo (we are already 3 ivf cycles down), rather than having an issue with getting pregnant due to immune issues. would be interested in others' experiences!

@99pctpractice you don't have to do immune testing or anything else. They will treat you but they may ask again because that is part of their standard treatment protocol. I did fresh cycles and FET there without immunes.

Good luck x
