Hi

I had a missed miscarriage in October and this month I’ve had a chemical

I want my doctor to test my progesterone but he just won’t so I paid for my own progesterone test at 7DPO and it came back at 25.7 NMOL which from what I read is slightly low. He didn’t really know much about it when I was speaking but regardless said that he wouldn’t test my progesterone routinely. Is there a threshold as to how many miscarriages you need to have before they investigate?

I could really do with some advice please. Also would a chemical be considered a miscarriage because of how early it was so doctors wasn’t notified of pregnancy?

I'm sorry for your losses. Usually you will be referred for further tests after 3 miscarriages. I was referred by my fertility consultant after my second - partly due to my age and because we've struggled to conceive prior to my first pregnancy.

You can ask your GP to refer you to Tommy's, who will see you after 2 or you could try a referral to Professor Quenby, based at Coventry hospital.

Very early / chemical losses do count ❤️ I've had 3 missed miscarriages and 1very early and they've all been acknowledged.

Best wishes x
