First time posting I am looking for advice of what to do next...

I honestly feel so deflated. I’ve been TTC for over a year and today is yet another cycle day one. I’ve had initial blood tests and my hormones were a bit out of whack high prolactin not great thyroid function. (They’ve been repeated three times now!) Finally got referred and... they aren’t going to do anything. This was a regular endocrinologist not a fertility specialist. I feel so deflated my levels have been getting worse not better so I don’t know what they expect to happen. Should I push my GP to refer us to the fertility clinic? Should I go private for the initial tests? I am so tired already of having to be my own advocate and push for this to be sorted.

Thanks for reading!

I'm sorry that you're going through this, it's horrible. It's hard to know what to do. I'd look into your local clinic and see if you'd qualify for funding and how long you need to be trying before you're referred, depending on age I think it's 2 years.

Did you see an endocrinologist in a NHS hospital; if so I would contact PALS re your appointment. Why are they not going to do anything?. What were the reasons given for this?.

I would also contact the GP and find out how far they are along with the referral to a subfertility dept, people who have been ttc for more than 12 months should be seen. You do not have to wait two years.

Thanks both! It’s good feeling that I’m not alone.

Yep was at an NHS hospital (tw miscarriage) they are saying my hormones are messed up by two early losses last year but equally my hormones imbalance could have caused them so I feel a bit lost. If I have one more they might do something but that just feels awful. They did agree to one more blood test so I hoping that might trigger action, but it so frustrating.

Thanks for the advice I will follow up with my GP as well.
