Me! DD from day 6 frozen blast. Had chemical from fresh day 5 transfer from same cycle. I did lots of research at the time and found plenty of success stories. Good luck!

One of my twins (likely DD) is a day 6 blastocyst

@Galgal15 and @ivfbeenbusy thanks so much! We are doing an fet in March or April and it's 2 day 6 blasts.my 2yr old DD was a 5 day blast.. got normal. These latest blasts weren't tested so a little worried but going ahead anyway. I'm 41 so worried they are both abnormal.

My DD was the equivalent of a day 6 blast. Transferred on day 5 as a morula. Good luck xxx

There is some evidence which suggests that day 6 blastocysts are more likely to be female

I didn't PGS my twins as blastocysts - I didn't get any "normals" on the egg collection before so decided not to test again

@ivfbeenbusy that's really interestng re girls being slower to grow. Also I have read somewhere that pgs can have false negs. We pgs tested the last time and got 2 normal out of 6. 1 is my dd and the other which was a day 6 didn't implant last sept. For some reason they couldn't test this time..something about the visibility of the cells..so that's why we didn't test but now I'm hoping we have increased our odds. I'm 41 though and dh is 50 so rusk of downs etc is higher...it's all so stressful whatever you do!

@Janefx40 thanks. It's interesting if you were doing a fet they have have discarded the embryo. Thankfully not!!

I'm almost 20 weeks at the moment with a day 6 frozen embryo (and it's a boy). Regarding your age, this embryo was created when I was aged 40 and we didn't have any PGS testing. I also had healthy twins from a fresh transfer in that same round of IVF 😊
Good luck!

Janefx40 · 19/02/2021 23:05

@hopefully21 actually it was meant to be for a FET but we decided to transfer that embryo because they said the odds of it making it to freezing were only 5-10%. It was an emotional decision not a logical one - I felt foolish but wanted to give it a chance...we were amazed when we got our positive test. The embryo we froze in that cycle led to a miscarriage recently so feel amazingly lucky that we made that decision.

Best of luck with your transfer

Xxx

@Janefx40 wow thats amazing. I was only saying last night to my DH that if didn't do pgs on last round we wouldn't have transferred our DD first..I think she may have been 3rd. So who knows, we may not have had her at all. We feel the fact that nature stepped in his time and won't allow the pgs testing that it might be another sign..possibly a viable embryo which may have come back as abnormal..when it wasn't.

@Janefx40 sorry to hear you miscarried.

@SamoyedFan123 3 out of one round at 40 is super! I know there is a high risk with twins but I'd love them. Always wanted 3. Obviously I feel blessed to have 1 and would be thrilled if 1 took in this next transfer but you can always dream.
