So Im 42 and have been Ivfing for 3 years. Had one BFP 18 months ago and only told friends and family once we had a positive result. Sadly had a MC. We have done another 3 rounds since then but told nobody until my last EC and it just so happened that the anaesthetist is a male friend of ours....
Very uncomfortable knowing that I was about to be wheeled into theatre with my legs in stirrups and a friend in the room with me.
Im blushing now as I type this.
I know its all professional and stuff but I wish I had thought that it might have been a possibility before hand and specifically requested that he NOT be the guy. My head was so full of other things obviously... But what are the chances? Quite good clearly!!!

Just to clear up... We still havent told anybody about our continued IVF journey except now this friend knows because he was my aneasthetist on the day so clearly he is now in on it!
Imagine arriving in your lovely gown with your butt sticking out and you find someone you know there... Cringe.

Oh dear, i feel for you, i would hate that too. I hope the sedation knocked you out enough! Seriously though, the onus is on your friend as an aneasthetist to be professional and discreet, so i would like to think it will go no further.

Last thing you need though isn't it?! I have a colleague who is going through IVF (doesn't know i am) and is looking for a new clinic. Keep dreading bumping into her at an appointment and that's bad enough to worry me, you have my sympathies!

I live 2 hours away from my clinic and I should have thought that it was a possibility but I have had 3 ECs previously and my DH has had other procedures and it hasnt happened before. Its a fairly large city so the chances are slim. Yes, he will be discreet Im sure! Only time Ive been grateful for Covid lockdown in the UK ... No socialising!
