advice on which frozen embryo to transfer next

Taking a break from FET at the moment but want to ask what would be a good next step. I have two frozen embryos. One is day 3 and the other day 5 5BB. Not really that hopeful as previous day 5 4AA did not stick. I have been thinking of cultivating the day 3 to day 5 to see if it can reach blasto. If yes, transfer it first. If not, the day 5 can be used instead. The reason is that I feel the chance of the day 3 embryo reaching blasto is low based on my previous stats. If the day 3 is left last, there is a chance that cycle will be cancelled. I suppose just preparing for different scenarios.

@Jo99999 your plan sounds sensible, you could ask to speak to one of the embryologists at your clinic to see if they agree. What’s your history? How many transfers have you had to date?

A 5BB embryo is good! The 5 means it's started to hatch which is great. But ultimately the grading doesn't indicate if the genetic material is right. I've seen so many stories where women had PGS and found that their top AA embryos were genetically not viable but the B or C were perfect. The only thing though is that even the best embryo may not defrost perfectly. My frozen 5BB looked terrible before the transfer although I did get pregnant (but miscarried). If you go for a day 5 but your embryo hasn't defrosted correctly then you have no back-up. If you use your day 3 but it sadly doesn't make it, you can use your 5BB and not loose a cycle. Ultimately you can always discuss this with the embryologist at your clinic as they usually give brilliant advice. Good luck! X

thanks for your reply. I have had 3 transfers so far. 2BB, 2-3BB, 4AA respectively but no luck. Fingers crossed. All the best to you too.
