Can too many cycles harm your health?

Hello ladies, I am currently PUPO with my 4th transfer but am not so hopeful as I already had 3 unsuccessful ones and so want to plan my next steps. I still have 6 blasts left but they are of poor quality (all have C’s in them) and they were produced from frozen eggs, meaning they have been frozen and thawed twice, which might explain why I had 3 (and maybe soon 4) unsuccessful tries with them. So I am thinking of having a new egg retrieval with PGS testing to increase my chances. My main concern (other than the financial and emotional toll of going through all this again) is about the impact this will have on my health. Because of my specific issue (thin lining), I have to have stims (Gonal F) before each transfer. Over the years (counting failed cycles etc.), I have taken stims 10 times. I am now worried going for extra cycles could be bad for me on the long run (cancer? Other issues?). Does anyone know anything about this? My dr says there is no research really into this but that stims don’t seem to be dangerous...not very reassuring! TIA for any advice!

Hi @Tarsette, I am curious about this too! I haven't had any cycles yet, but I am really worried how all the drugs may affect my fertility and my health (we are doing ICSI due to male factor issues, I am 'fine' myself).

I did 5 egg collections in little over a year - I definitely found by the last one it was harder and harder to get the same response to the drugs

Hi @Tarsette

I'm facing down the barrel of a stims cycle before FET after three failed go's with synthetic estrogen. (And viagra. And clexane. And and and)....

I was wondering what dose of stims they put you on. Do they do trigger to help with timing or just lots of scans to pinpoint OV?

Can you do back to back stims fet cycles?

Sorry so many questions!

@summerson I get 200 iu Gonal F for about 10 days, with cetrotide for the last few days (to prevent ovulation) and then trigger shot. It’s the only protocol I’ve found that thickens my liking enough for FET...

I have just done an EC back to back after a FET. I just wanted to get on with it but wouldn’t recommend in hindsight. My body didn’t even get a chance to recover from the FET (which ended in a chemical) before getting more hormones. Mentally, it was tough as well. I feel emotionally drained...
