Hi everyone,

I'm new to this and this is my first post! Came off my pill last April and been TTC ever since. I've had a lot of issues with my cycles and have only had two periods since last April. GP took bloods etc but weren't willing to look into any further as I needed to wait until I had been a year off my pill. Due to the stress of my cycles being all over the place and other symptoms I booked in for a private scan and it's now been confirmed I have PCOS. My GP has now referred us to the fertility clinic and we'll find out what our options are. My scan showed that I had an excess of 90 antral follicles on my ovaries. I was just wondering what others experiences of these follicles were? I am a healthy weight which is why I think it's went undetected for so long (but since coming off the pill I have found I'm putting on weight quite rapidly). I'm just wondering what others experiences are of having PCOS and their experience of their TTC journey? What has helped etc?

Thanks, Kayleigh x

Hi all - not really sure how to begin but thought I’d try and seek some support from people going through the same thing hopefully! Been ttc for nearly a year, came of the pill last summer and have had fairly regular periods since then (although last few months have been a bit all over the place) and had what I considered regular periods (monthly) before being on the pill. Have used ovulation tests the last couple of months which suggest I’ve been ovulating. Wasn’t sure why nothing was happening so went to see the gp who suggested doing some prelim blood tests - well today I had a phone call and it’s suspected I have pcos as my androgen levels are high and the irregularity of my periods the last few months may be an indication as well. I just wasn’t expecting it at all, other Half and family supportive but I’m not sure they quite get it! Don’t really know what the purpose of this post is except perhaps to talk/ let it out but appreciate any comments! I’ve been referred for an ultrasound anyway and will go from there in terms of next steps re fertility.
I did notice that I gained more weight after coming of the pill (heaviest I’ve been) and haven’t been able to lose it as easily as in the past but to be honest I put this down to lockdown/ being at home and my own lack of willpower (although I really do feel like it’s been more difficult but just kept thinking the current lockdown situation, being 30 + compared to when I was in my 20s and coming of the pill may have contributed) however could pcos be contributing? Does anyone have any similar symptoms with weight gain/ difficult losing weight? Thank you so much in advance

Oh and I read your post above @sausageface and same here I’ve been ovulating on day 22-23 of my cycle (based on LH ovulation tests) and the last few months my cycle has been closer to the 35 day mark
Sorry for all the messages and mind dump of a post - I’m just trying to come to terms with it I think!
