FET prostap - still no period 3 weeks after injection

Hello,
Does anyone have any experience of a delayed period 3 weeks after the prostap injection? I’ve had one scan which showed a cyst but blood tests showed it wasn’t producing hormones so was advised FET can carry on however I’ve still not had a period and no signs of it coming either. (I am not pregnant as I took a test even though it would have been pretty much impossible !!!)
I’ve another scan tomorrow but I feel in limbo as not sure if this cycle may end up cancelled or whether they can do something to bring on period ?! I had one cycle cancelled in December due to covid (after taking prostap but having had a period that time) and I’m really finding it difficult not to obsess over (even more than usual!) with being in lockdown. Sure you all know that feeling !

Hi, I’m in this same scenario now, what happened with your cycle? Did you get you period eventually? Thanks in advance

Hi @Alicein my period never arrived though I was able to go ahead with the cycle as when I went for a scan my lining was thin and the cyst had gone. I had had the smallest amount of spotting (barely noticeable when I wiped once or twice and I probably wouldn’t have noticed if I hadn’t been obsessively checking!!) so doctor thinks that may have been it but either way they were happy for cycle to go ahead.

Unfortunately the cycle didn’t work for me however the doctor thinks the cycle went well and that it was likely down to the embryo. I’m about to start my next one today in fact with my prostap injection so hoping that my period comes a bit quicker / more obviously this time!

Can you ask your clinic to scan you to see what is going on? I remember how frustrating it was just waiting with no idea what was happening.

Oh thanks for responding! Sorry to hear that your last cycle wasn’t successful, I’m hoping this one works out for you.
Would you believe that my period started overnight? So scan tomorrow and hopefully all will progress.
Can you talk me through your protocol if you don’t mind? Like, start estrogen after the supressed scan....then how many days until you started to take progesterone? Just trying to vaguely get a picture in my head of what the next month or so will look like!

Oh that’s just typical isn’t it - glad it’s arrived though and you can get moving.

After my scan I started oestrogen tablets. I went back a week later for another scan and showed my lining was thickening so I was then booked in for the transfer 10 days later. It could have been a week later but there was no space. So from starting oestrogen to transfer it was 17 days. I carried on taking oestrogen the whole time and started progesterone 5 days before transfer.

Is this your first transfer? I am fortunate to have a 2 year old from my first IVF cycle and have had one failed FET and am about to start my next FET.

So typical!
Yes it's my first FET but I did a fresh transfer in 2019 with my son. It's a different clinic though and a different set of drugs of course!
For my IVF I had birth control and buserelin in down Reg so that's why I was so confused with Prostap.
My skin has reacted to the Prostap too, bad chin acne, hoping it will go once the Prostap is out of my system.
I have everything crossed for your next cycle, do you have many frozen embryos? We have three but I don't think they are particularly good grades 😬

I never did prostap with my fresh either and really don’t like it. It gave me awful sleeplessness and made me a bit miserable - although that could have been lockdown! I hope the effects for you clear up quickly once it works it’s way out of your system !

We have 5 left but the quality isn’t great. Although my consultant doesn’t seem to want to talk about quality and just talks about them having a chance etc... and it’s my googling that led to that conclusion so I should step away from google! We’re going to do a single transfer this time and consider a double if that doesn’t work. Would you consider double transfer? We have one day 5 embryo left and the rest are day 6 ones.

Hope everything works for you and that it doesn’t take long to get onto the next stage of the process - I found a FET seemed to take longer than fresh!

Yes! I'm the same with Google. I thought they were goodish before I went on a deep dive on gradings etc. Terrible idea of course but I couldn't help myself 😬

We would consider a double transfer for sure. Would certainly save on three separate FETs 😂

We have two day 5s and one day 6, the consultant said that he'd put in the Day 6 one but ultimately the embryologists will decide so dunno which one it will be!

I'm so equally excited and anxious about it all.

Hope the injection went well, and the symptoms are minimal.

Hi, I had my prostap injection on day 21 of my cycle. I'm due to have my scan next Monday but my period still hasn't arrived! I'm really worried. When I called the clinic the nurse advised that my period would come- not very helpful. Had anyone else been in this situation?
