Any day 6 blastocysts worked?

Hi everyone. I’ve just had a very disappointing call that none of my 5 embryos have made it to blastocyst by day 5. 1 is degenerating and they are going to leave four overnight. They said that two are at the compacting morulla stage and 2 are early blastocysts.

I’m so upset. Pls can anyone tell me anything about day 6 embryos? what their chances are? Thanks x

Yes! I'm currently 18+2 with a day 6 embryo. I had two fresh day 5s transferred which resulted in my twins, and they left two more overnight to develop a bit more and they were frozen on day 6 as a 4AA and a 4AB. (Sorry I don't know what grades they were on day 5.) The 4AA started hatching straight after it was thawed, but didn't stick. We had the 4AB transferred, which also started hatching after its thaw, without much hope really as the better one hadn't stuck, and I was stunned to get a BFP 9 days later.

Aw congrats @SamoyedFan123 and thanks for the positive story. I’m just really worried and hope that some of them make it. Do you know anything about how day 6 may differ from day 5’s in terms of success? X

Hi, i had a cycle with one embryo transferred on day 5. There was another blast which was not deemed suitable for transfer on day 5 but which progressed overnight and was frozen on day 6. Day 5 fresh was a chemical pregnancy, day 6 frozen is my beautiful one year old daughter. Good luck!

@Sara279 all I know is what my clinic told me which is that day 6 embryos have as much chance as day 5 embryos. I've had 4 day 5 embryos transferred in total resulting in two babies, and 2 day 6 embryos transferred, resulting in this ongoing pregnancy, so for me it's been a 50/50 success rate with both day 5 and day 6 transfers (assuming this pregnancy continues to go well).

Oh gosh thank you so much both of you @Galgal15 and @SamoyedFan123 for giving me some hope. I’ve literally been led in the bath for 1.5 hours to try and unwind. I feel so stressed x thanks again

One of my twins born a couple of weeks ago is a day 6.

You have 2 early blastocysts today so highly likely these will be at stage 4/5 (expanded/hatching) tomorrow

Hi everyone, just wanted to update you all. So we got 2 blastocysts as @ivfbeenbusy predicted.

The embryologist rang at the end of the day to let me know that one was a fully expanded 4BB, so they were freezing that.. she said one of our embryos had started to hatch but then died (necrotic) and that two didn't progress passed the morula stage however one was an early blastocyst but was of poor quality and she didn't recommend freezing it though offered it as a choice to me... anyway we had quite a long chat because I was feeling a little emotional (she was very lovely) and towards the end of the chat she asked to put me on hold and when she came back she said that the embryo had started to expand and had 'extruded' some cells and was now looking a better quality so they have decided to give it a chance and freeze it. So we have a 4BB and 3BC. So relieved. She said that in her opinion there was no difference between day 5's and day 6's and that all embryos that make it to blastocyst are strong. Anyway, I'm really pleased with this as was so worried we'd be left with nothing. Thank you for all your lovely replies and advice xx
