Success stories 1st cycle ICSI - NHS

I wonder if anybody has any success stories of one cycle of ICSI, I had my first app today and she said all tests permitting with FHS etc she’s happy to refer us for 1 cycle of ICSI, I’m 35 and my partner has low sperm motility - I always thought it was at least 2 cycles on NHS (but I know it’s a postcode lottery) I guess my question is - is there even any point in one cycle since it’s chances are so slim? Anybody had any good news on their first attempt at ICSI? Thanks x

Me. Had DC from my NHS FET. Fresh cycle failed.

Wishing you all the best.

OP, this is what my trust's policy said a couple of years ago: if your ONE free NHS cycle produces multiple embryos and your first transfer fails or you become pregnant but the pregnancy is not successful, you get to try again with all of your remaining embryos until you either have a baby or you don't have any more embryos left. That's what was classed as ONE cycle. Hope this helps, although I appreciate rules vary from trust to trust so it's worth clarifying it all what's actually included in the ONE cycle.

So what I was trying to say is please don't get disheartened, just discuss all your options and take it from there. We did ICSI and our first transfer failed unfortunately but the second one was successful. Our second embryo was from the same cycle as the first so it was covered by the NHS. I hope it's the case for you as well, I know how worrying the finances can be on top of everything else!!
