Currently 15+2 with a frozen embryo here 😊. Some doctors say that success rates are actually slightly higher with FETs than fresh cycles. Good luck!

Giraffaelina · 20/01/2021 11:55

Hi OP! I was exactly the same as you, MC at 6 weeks. It affected me so much that I actually contemplated to just make peace with our situation and not try again. Took me just over a year to get over it and boy am I glad I did as I have a wonderful DC from our FET.

It was really hard to pick myself up and try again, so much that we didn't share with anyone that we were trying again, not even our closest friends or family knew. I needed that so I could distance myself somewhat from what was going on and carry on with day to day "normality" for my own sanity, without having to talk about it all the time. It's such an overwhelming and mentally draining process!

I actually second @SamoyedFan123 . Our consultant told us that FET are more optimal as your hormones are more settled than at a fresh transf. He told us there were / are numerous studies going on to actually standardise / offer freezing of all embryos and then do FET to increase chances slightly.

Good luck OP - here if you need any advice or handholding 🌸

@Elsbels85 I’ve heard FET take longer to implant than fresh. No idea why that is but I’ve read it a few times. You’re only 5 days past transfer, it’s still very early days. X

Elsbels85 · 26/01/2021 10:30

@Raggity19 I have also read that, I do hope that is the case but I really don't think it is

Don't lose hope OP, i tested at 9dp6dt this time and my line wasn't super strong - I Don't think it would have been positive before 7dp.

Elsbels85 · 26/01/2021 13:41

Will give it a few days and test again x

My 8dp5dt (FET) morning test was negative. I was gutted. He's 7 months now! Got the faintest possible line that same evening and then I worried it wasn't strong enough because you hear all these positive 5dp5dt stories. It's too soon!

Sorry about your miscarriage. Just awful Flowers

Very best of luck!

Congratulations! Lovely line Smile

I know from experience that the worry isn't over, but this is excellent news, so if you can get excited, that's definitely allowed! Wishing you a healthy pregnancy Smile

@Elsbels85 congrats. This gives me hope. I had a missed miscarriage in November following a fresh transfer and feeling very apprehensive about trying again. I hope all goes well for you xx

Elsbels85 · 03/02/2021 08:04

@JandL2020 thank you, I don't think i will let myself be happy till I'm pass the 20 week scan I will be thinking the worse the whole time, sadly but thats how I cope, have you got any frozen embryos ? X

OP posts:
JandL2020 · 03/02/2021 08:17

@Elsbels85 that’s how I feel as well. I didn’t feel particularly excited the last time like something was going to go wrong, then it did 😞 6 Frosties, 2 are not good quality the rest are better. Hoping one of those sticks. I think in hindsight we should have had a FET as I had symptoms of OHSS and felt horrendous. We’ve been trying naturally as we are unexplained and I got the Smile this month. Just giving up hope to be honest. On a more positive note I’ve lost 5 pounds which I had gained from ivf/Xmas so I’m happy about that. What’s the time scale for FET roughly? Were you medicated? I want to change jobs but wondering how much flexibility I will need with appointments this time around xx

Yokey · 03/02/2021 08:25

Congratulations, OP! We go to all these lengths desperately hoping to get a positive pregnancy test and when we finally get there we face months of worry. Still, it's great news! I kept reminding myself that it was more likely to work out than not. You're pregnant and that's very special Flowers Wishing you the very best Smile

Elsbels85 · 03/02/2021 08:33

@JandL2020 4 is good I only have this one is was a 4ab, so many people tell me a frozen cycle is better then fresh. Well done on losing weight I've already put half a stone on.
The frozen cycle is so much faster all the do is check your womb lining and when thats ready they transfer. I'm on progynova and progesterone. X

OP posts:
Yokey · 03/02/2021 08:34

@JandL2020 so sorry about your miscarriage. It's understandable you don't feel positive. It's great you've 4 good frosties (and I'm sure they wouldn't have frozen the other 2 if they were too poor to stand a chance?). Don't lose hope. IVF puts a strain on your body, which you even felt, so hopefully you'll have more success with a FET Flowers

JandL2020 · 03/02/2021 19:22

Thank you @Elsbels85 @Yokey. Hopefully I’ll be ready physically and mentally by April/May. Xx
