Fertility treatment experience

Hi.. I wanted to share my experience and wondered if anything else has experienced the same and could share please.
I'm with a private clinic and took Bemfola injections and Ovitrelle trigger. I had to abandon my first cycle though because my follicles were dominant on my left ovary which has a fibroid in the way to get to them ☹️
Since abandoning my cycle, I had one really heavy period five days early. It was awful. However this month I'm supposed to be starting my treatment again but I haven't had my period. I'm 4/5 days late and usually It's bang on time. I've done 2 pregnancy tests and they are negative. Has anyone experienced anything similar to this?
I've spoke with my clinic, and they've advised to call back when I'm over a week late so they can do a scan.
I feel like there's always an issue which hinders any progress we make. I'm 39 this year and feel like I'm running out of time ☹️

@5under I bled early in my fresh cycle and then my natural cycle after, I ovulated 7 days late and my cycle was 8 days longer. It’s quite normal to have a longer cycle after a IVF cycle so I think what you’re experiencing is normal.

@gardenlady543 thank you for your reply. I hope that's the case and I start soon. They asked me to come in for a scan which will be another additional cost so I may hold out a bit longer to see if it does.. the clinic didn't really say that it's normal. The nurse I spoke with was quite vague.

@5under I really wouldn’t worry, I’m not sure what use the scan will be and if you’re going to need to pay for it, then if it were me, I’d personally hold off and give it a couple of weeks. Luckily I had tracked my ovulation, I knew it was 7 days late so didn’t expect a period for another 14 days. I know some ladies end up waiting a few weeks longer for their period compared to normal after a cycle.

@Gardenlady543 thank you, that's helped me put my mind at ease.x

The month I had my transfer, I ovulated a week late. (I had OHSS so had to wait 2 months for frozen transfer.) That's never happened to me before ever. I was so confused at the scan when the nurse said I looked about a week away from ovulating. I'd lost all hope for that month. Nobody suggested to me that a delayed ovulation was normal at all, but the scan a week later confirmed it.

@Yokey thanks for sharing.
My cycle did eventually start over a week later.. never felt so relieved to get my period! I've been able to start my treatment again🤞🏼
Just a little annoying that the clinic don't really tell you things that can happen as a result of treatment. Having to rely on google searches and forums which I'm glad we have but coming from a professional before it happens would just make the experience a little less stressful.

I also came on about 5 days late after a freeze all. I think it's just because our bodies have been messed about with all the stims etc. I also had mid cycle spotting which I have never ever had before!
Good luck with your treatment !

@5under, it was the month my IVF worked (apologies if that's insensitive to say - I'm aiming for reassuring!). As I said, I lost all hope for that month with my cycle being so strange, but whatever strain my body was under certainly didn't prevent successful treatment. Best of luck to you Flowers
