Has anyone had immune testing with Dr Gorgy? Please share your experiences.

Yes I did to have my first son. He’s expensive and Doesn’t explain much! I can’t say his bedside mAnner is great but I warmed to him over the years

I like his approach to fertility though- he looks at everything
Immunes
Sperm factors
Pgs
Egg quality
He does a lot of stuff with no evidence base (or cutting edge I suppose?)

So many fertility doctors I met were either
It’s all immunes (argc and mr shehata)
It’s all about pgs (my care consultant)

While mr gorgy believes it’s a bit of it all.
If u see him go very well informed ow it can feel overwhelming !

I had success after 6mc and 4 ivf cycles all in my late 20’s/early 30’s.

He will test ur nk / tnf. Autoantibodies. He’s into testing for lad but I didn’t really like the idea of LIT so I never did that.

I was on a barage of drugs. He’s not using steroids due to covid atm but that used to be a main tx option along with various drips.

Good luck x

Expensive, oh great 🙄😂

Thanks for sharing your experience.

You say you used him to have your first son... did you go on to have more children without his assistance?

No - I’ve had 2 more ivf cycles both supported by him which were negative.

but that’s because it’s come to light I have bad scarring in my womb (ashermans) and no embryo could ever implant...my lining has been looking bizzare at both FET but we thought it was just one of those things. Then I saw a lining specialist. It’s Possibly my section or my placenta with my son which had embedded in a bit.

Waiting for an op to fix it. Then going again! Not sure It will work this time but just going to try one last time.

Yes it’s very exp-talking many grand if u do his entire plan but he’s open to u picking and choosing (within reason) if fiance are an issue. I did my ivf with care and used his immunes. Some clinics will give you empirical immune tx anyways.
We had severe male factor.

greendress789 · 15/01/2021 12:26

Thank Cream and good luck for your next round.

When you say you had severe factor, what was the issue? Mine has low morphology.

No sperm! Only a couple swimming around (confirmed on at least 20 sperm tests over 4 years!). (Though I managed natural pregnancies at the start with that - it’s quite a puzzle!) it was Due to surgery when we was a teenager

I suspect u have done what u can to try improve that? No smoking alchol supplements blah blah! Made no difference to my husband as there was a medical reason it was all low..

greendress789 · 16/01/2021 21:55

Hi, yes done everything - loose boxers, more veg and fruit, less alcohol / caffeine, supplement etc etc. Been to a urologist blah blah blah.

Least u know u tried....I felt better knowing that
Wish you all the best! Xxxx

greendress789 · 17/01/2021 09:03

It's so hard trying EVERYTHING and it still failing 😔

OP posts:
bluepixie · 17/01/2021 13:36

I know :( I felt like that when trying for my son
And I’m beginning to feel it now but not as intensely.....fingers crossed for u

Have u done an era / does ur lining look ok on scans (ideally triple and thick)/ immunes/pgs (this is what I have done in past and this time too I know pros and cons but actually think it’s what got me my son as I know I had abnormal embryos from my mc tests)

greendress789 · 17/01/2021 22:02

Always have triple lining and thick.

Haven't done ERA - I was considering that or immunes as my next step.

Have done 4 cycles with my own eggs - BFNs, 1 MC, one cycle nothing to transfer after being PGD tested. Now moved onto donor eggs which also failed before Xmas.

Hi, I know this is from many months ago now but thought I’d share my experience in case it’s useful.
I had a straightforward natural first pregnancy resulting in the birth of my first son in 2016 followed by 5 miscarriages. I consulted with Dr Gorgy in September 2019 and under his immune treatment plan my next pregnancy was successful resulting in the birth of my 2nd son in 2020.
I agree that his bedside manner is not the best (I was in tears after one consultation with him), but as my husband said at the time - we didn’t need to be friends with him we just needed his expertise. I was on steroids, intralipids, clexane and LIT for high NK cells and low blocking T cells. I’m not sure I needed all those drugs but was so scared of losing another baby that we threw money at it and did it all. Something worked 🤷‍♀️.

Bottom line- his treatment plan is aggressive and expensive and his bedside manner isn’t great but he does have a track record of getting results (have confirmed this by chatting to other patients in his waiting room). IF we were going to try for another baby (which we aren’t) I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to him.
Good luck 🍀

Thank you @Hoping1234 for sharing your story and pleased it worked for you, hoping it works for me too 🤞

Hi can anyone else add to this thread? I have had two transfers that have resulted in miscarriages now, one transfer that failed. Never seen a BFP from naturally trying.

Looking and immunology next and hoping to book in with dr gorgy next week. How long from initial consultation does it take for testing?

Any positive stories?

Whatissleep79 · 14/01/2022 05:44

Hi I’ve just had my rainbow with Dr Gorgy’s treatment after multiple mmc before.
It’s worth getting some of the tests done at least to see if you have immune issues.
I have made friends with someone on here who also had multiple mcs and euploids failing to implant and is in third trimester after immunes now.
I did all of it and was very expensive but he will only recommend what he thinks and obviously you can say no or look at other alternatives.
We did LIT, extra progesterone, clexane, ivig, intralips, prednisone, baby aspirin
