IVF stimulation not working? Should I go straight to a donor?

Hi everyone. I'm currently doing my first round of IVF in Prague (visiting from the USA).

I have a very low AMH (.12) so my doctor advised to go straight for a donor. We want to try with my own so I started stimulation last Friday. Today was my first scan and it looks like my follicles aren't growing at all. The doctor was pretty surprised and again recommended a donor. We are pushing forward with a few more days of stimulation with a higher dosage but I don't know if we should go beyond that.

Do we give up and go for a donor? I trust the doctor but also think it's weird that he wants to give up so quickly.

I believe AMH levels are shown differently in America to what they are in the U.K. so not sure how they'd compare to how we report them? But anyway there are clinics in the U.K. which specialise in treating women with ultra low AMH - like Create. Personally I wouldn't write off my own eggs so quickly but then we had already made the decision that donor eggs weren't for us

Also you do need to be mindful that clinics will
Push donor eggs on people because using donor eggs increases their reported success ratings. At the end of the day they are business.......

@ivfbeenbusy yes, you're totally right about IVF reports. I keep seeing people post their #s and am so confused, haha.

That's very true, I didn't want to think of them as just a business but you're totally right. I think we're going to keep trying with ours for a bit longer after hearing that other women also had a similar first off experience.

You could ask about a different medication entirely or a higher dose of the same medication?

My AMH levels are quite high but I pretty much failed to respond to the first round of IVF medication and then my doctor suggested we try again with a higher dose of a different drug and I had a really good result.
