Is anyone considering or started IVF abroad and who are you having them with?

I am currently looking at treatments in Cyprus and considering Miracle IVF. Does anyone have any experience with them or thinking of doing it with them?

HI @Kloe1 i'm also considering treatment abroad and wondered if you'd got any answers or made any decisions? :)

Minchella · 16/05/2021 12:31

Just reading through old post with regards to miracle IVF North Cyprus with Dr Firdevs

Believe me when I say they are not spinning a line. They truly changed my life. They are miracle workers.

Uk prices were disgustingly high.

I had a tandem cycle as I had low egg reserve and knew my chances of using my own eggs where slim(donor eggs where used, I have 6 frozen). I’m just writing this to help anyone who is thinking they have exhausted all Avenues. As I would have been grateful to read this to make my decision.

As I type this my beautiful twin girls are playing together. I did manage just to get in before lockdown, however now that restrictions are easing it may be possible to travel.

I didn’t go for the package deal with the hotel. I went onto booking.com and search for the area to find the hotel and ordered my own taxi.

For the days you have to go to the clinic the reception will call you cab.

Every time is see this clinics name o smile as I know how much it TRULY has changed my life.

Good luck guys xxxx

Hello @Kloe1 and @daffodil2021 I do not have experience with clinics in Cyprus, but I travelled to Prague to have treatment with Praga Medica and I thought I would share my bit: I cant thank them enough, the whole thing was very well managed and the price for IVF + meds about 3000 GBP. We were lucky and I conceived after the first try.
We travelled in October, during the pandemic, which made me worry a bit, but I would do it again, I feflt safe and all coordinators and doctors were very helpful and supportive. Best of luck with your treatments!!!

daffodil2021 · 21/05/2021 00:03

Thanks @Minchella - so lovely to hear about your experience and twins :) Cyprus does seem like a lovely place to do it too, but not sure if it would even be possible to book there atm - flights were a small fortune over the next few months!

Thanks for sharing @Ellybeee and congratulations too :) we’re also now looking at Prague (Medical Travel and Gynem so far) as it just seems easier and cheaper to get there at the moment with everything going on so glad you mentioned it. The last time I looked at flights to Cyprus they were £500+! The meds sound like they were reasonable too - did you buy them here or through the clinic? Annoyingly think because of timings we might have to get some tests and ultrasounds done here which bumps up the costs as not sure flying in and out with all the covid testing is even possible or cost effective. So much to think about. Reassuring yours worked on the first try though :)

Dr F was amazing, fantastic clinic. After 2x nhs and 1x Reprofit with no bfp I was due a miracle! Unfortunately ended in miscarriage but I've got 4 top quality embryos on ice, so the future holds a lot of promise. 100% recommended.

Minchella · 22/05/2021 22:19

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage AliceAbsolum, as you know your in safe hands with Dr Firdevs for when you feel the time is right for you.

Even after the embryo transfer Dr Firdevs came upstairs to check on me and she said I was pregnant (now that mean seem strange but she just knew) I had 3 embryos transferred and 2 made it🙏🏾.

daffodil2021- yes £500 does seem excessive for flights no doubt skyrocketing from the demand on the back of the pandemic.

I wish you luck in Prague with your journey.

Hello everyone! I am researching now doing IVF abroad and considering my options.

@Ellybeee thank you for mentioning Prague, I will search them as well, from the sounds of it they are in my price range.

We have an amazing clinic here in Spain, but it is a bit expensive for me, so now I am focusing my search in Greece, Cyprus or North Cyprus.

LongerthanMrTicklesarms · 15/06/2021 13:52

@IsabelHerna if you're based in Spain there are so many excellent IVF clinics, I wouldn't travel from Spain to another country for IVF without shopping around first.

Some of the IVF costs might be cheaper but the convenience of not adding international travel into the mix at a stressful time is worth a lot too. Many have interest-free payment plans.

IsabelHerna · 16/06/2021 09:26

@LongerthanMrTicklesarms Thank you for your advice! I will be definately looking more into IVF clinics in Spain and what they have to offer.

StillTTC · 24/08/2021 21:47

@AliceAbsolum sorry to hear about you loss.
Can I ask, are your embryos all frozen separately? I've been shocked to find out that mine have been frozen in groups. (at a different clinic)

AliceAbsolum · 25/08/2021 06:32

They're frozen in 2 sets of 2. 4 all separate was expensive. But yes not thrilled about it.

firefly37 · 25/08/2021 14:38

Just thought I would add, I got my beautiful DD from Reprofit in Brno, Cz Repub when I was 39! I thought they were great and straightforward x

StillTTC · 25/08/2021 16:03

@AliceAbsolum did they ask you first?

AliceAbsolum · 25/08/2021 16:32
@AliceAbsolum did they ask you first?
No. I had read that abroad they often freeze in 2's, 3's even! So we had already decided we were ok with 2s. The UK is very 'ahead' when it comes to single embryo transfer.

StillTTC · 25/08/2021 20:55

@AliceAbsolum but you'd still recommend them? When did they discuss transferring more than one / freezing them together?

Gonna DM you too.

AliceAbsolum · 26/08/2021 08:07

Yup, I'd recommend them. If these 4 dont work out we will do another round.
They discussed them on the day of transfer in the room with my husband and I. I was in charge of the process. But its clear they like to transfer more than 1. Other lady there had 3 donor embryos transferred, then twins born at 28 weeks!

StillTTC · 22/09/2021 14:04

@AliceAbsolum
Wow!
Good luck with your next transfer.

Chantelle1185 · 01/04/2022 23:53

Hi!
I would love to know more about Dr F because I’m hearing mixed reviews! I heard Team Miracle were also good but they’re not getting back to me on emails! Any feedback welcome

AliceAbsolum · 02/04/2022 04:39

There's a fb group

Petite1996 · 20/08/2022 19:21

Hello, I have just returned from my ivf treatment with Dr firdevs at miracle ivf Cyprus. Would like to warn you about a few things.

 1. price is higher than mentioned by co-ordinator no matter what they say.
 2. you will be asked to come at 9 but the doctor will not see you until 12 (she makes you wait 3 hrs)
 3. you will probably see the doctor 3 times for 5 minutes and she will not speak to you for more than 5 minutes. She will not listen to your needs or concern.
 4. you will be informed briefly about your embryos. Not in detail, and you will not be given any information before embryo transfer.
 5. if like me you are going for pgs, you will not be told what gender is being put, which is pathetic because you are paying for that extra add on.
 6. when you try to speak to dr firdevs she cuts you off and asks you to just relax as she would like to get on with her work.
 7. very unprofessional, the nurses and co-ordinators are good but they all sit and wait for the dr her self to come. She is usually busy getting changed or putting on make up.
 8. they are so stupid that they don’t even tell their patients that the hospital is actually on the north side of Cyprus which is Turkish. You would have to cross the border to go hospital. As a patient co-ordinator they should tell the patients before arriving.
 9. appointments are not confirmed until the night before, I had to ask my co-ordinattor 3 times’ what time is my appointment’ this does not happen in other clinics where you are told a night before.
 10. they do not tell you about medication until the last moment, nothing is clear or explained. You are expected to know what each medicston Is all about and how to use it without any guidance. this is my experience. majority have said the same and a lot of people there were not happy. But it’s your choice at the end of the day.
Petite1996 · 20/08/2022 19:25

I am really surprised that she did that because when I went few weeks ago for my treatment she didn’t once bother asking me about my needs or concerns. She was just cutting me off every time I wanted to speak. No discussion was made before the embryo transfer. It was like I blindly paid £8k for something I have no clue about. No after care either

blacksnow · 02/09/2022 16:53

Hi, I have no personal experiences with them. But I came across a few positive reviews of ladies who underwent treatment in the clinic. Hope this helps.

Minchella · 02/09/2022 18:43

Petite1996 Sorry to hear about your experience. Fingers and toes crossed it all works out for you.

when I was there in December 2019 I had a good experience.

when your paying so much for something the least you expect is all concerns assured and questions answered.

Greenlee · 15/09/2022 13:44

I know this thread has mostly been about Cyprus, but I'm also looking abroad and I have decided on Spain. Right now I am tossing up between Ginefiv and IVF Spain. Just waiting on the latter to tell me which tests they can't do themselves that I would need to arrange myself in the UK before going over!

daffodil2021 · 15/09/2022 17:04

Hi @Greenlee what made you choose Spain in the end? Have you got an idea of costs? Good luck with it!
