So we were due to start treatment next month - end feb just waiting on a follicle scan count then we can book our first cycle

We basically have decided to wait until April/may

Couple of reasons but one main one being financially

We have to come up with the whole money as we are going private using access on a multi cycle so we just figured it's a bit safer financially and buys us a couple more months

The schools shutting and I have no paid income at the moment we may be slightly short
Partners still working but we do need my income too

That's my head talking but I must admit I'm gutted at the thought

I'm 38 and 38 in may and I wanted it done asap
My AMH levels aren't great (5.6) and I just feel it's a bit of a sickening thought that we may be jeopardising our chances ?

We could potentially still do it but just will be very tight and maybe more stressful

What does everyone think?

Thanks for reading x

Can you put any on credit cards or borrow from parents? How much are you "short"?

strawberrysummer19 · 08/01/2021 11:45

We are already using credit cards as we have 0% available so that isn't the issue so in theory we have the £10,200 plus £1500 meds which meds we have in savings but the £10,200 will be credit cards so will have the minimum payment

The issue is rent bills etc and me going from taking home £850 a month to zero this month due to not being able to work as schools off so am currently job hunting for anything! So if I had my wage I wouldn't be worrying

I took home half pay in December which was fine but jan pay is zero which again is ok but can't have that for feb as it will affect our outgoings

My job won't furlough me as I work for a place where they are still open even though I think I can work from home but they won't allow it so won't be able to return until mid feb when schoolS go back hence the mad job hunt

We are looking at April as a compromise and not may but still feel gutted !

Isn't there anyone who can provide childcare to enable you to continue to work and still be paid?

strawberrysummer19 · 08/01/2021 12:27

We have no childcare family wise, we have two sets of mums who are both vulnerable.

Only paid childcare which is attached to my child's school which out weighs the costs of working

I think you'd have to weight up the "vulnerable ness" of your parents and their willingness to help if it's a choice between paying the mortgage or delaying IVF? If you don't want to delay and with schools being shut anyway, if you and partner are WFH/low contact working environment then the risk of transmission is low? If you don't want to reply on childcare then the Only choice is to delay?

Yes I think so too, got my head around it a bit more now just so gutted. But like my boyfriend said if we go for April it's literally 2 months later.

I can't work from home my office isn't Covid safe in my opinion- working with idiots who think Covid is a scam and ' I'm not changing my plans ' etc kind of people so not don't feel comfortable leaving them with mum or mother in law.

We are no alcohol caffeine and healthy eating this month and stepping up the exercise so like Boyf says our bodies will be in best shape possible I guess.

Just feel im missing out but need to get over that feeling x just my age I'll be nearer 39 and as we doing 2 cycles wanted them done ASAP

X
