Conceiving after miscarriage

Hi, I conceived through IVF, but unfortunately lost the baby at 10 weeks. The consultant was never explicit about what the issues that led to the fertility issues were, but I hve some indicators of PCOS and my ovarian reserve has dropped a lot.

Is it possible that I could conceive naturally after the miscarriage, given my body has experienced pregnancy? The thought of having to go through IVF right now it rough, but we definitely want to try again.

Hey @Absy. I’m in a similar position. Unexplained infertility - with polycystic ovaries. Had a fresh round of IVF in September, sadly ending in MMC. Got frozen embryos but don’t feel ready yet. Ideally would like to lose a couple of stone so aiming for next May for another transfer. In the meantime we are trying naturally. I’ve heard you are more fertile after misscarriage- I’m not sure why as hcg would be zero, but our consultant said that it shows you were successful at implantation which is a good sign. Hope your Xmas wasn’t too bad xx

I had ivf for for my son (now 13 months) after trying for 4 years. I then had a surprise pregnancy in September that ended in miscarriage at 7 weeks. Not certain if the first pregnancy is what allowed me to conceive naturally the second time, but i believe it must have contributed. We have been ttc since the miscarriage in October, but no luck so far.

Thanks both (sorry it’s taken me a while to come back).

We have a follow up with the fertility consultant but it’s been moved (thanks covid!). We sadly didn’t have any frozen embryos, so IVF would be from the beginning again which is a complete pain. Fingers crossed
