Issues with Leeds Fertility

Absolutely heartbroken today with Leeds Fertility.

After a year of being referred, being passed to three different consultants, having two miscarriages this year (and two previously) found out we can't start IVF yet like we were supposed to as they've failed to do tests I should've had done in June after my third loss, not now after my fourth.

Don't trust them anymore as I feel like we've been constantly left on the bottom of the pile.

I’m really sorry to hear this, were the miscarriages from natural conception? It sounds like there’s been a lot of delays which must be really hard, what tests do you still need?

@Gardenlady543 thanks for your kind words. Yes all four losses were from natural conception of our first child. We should have had the frequent miscarriage blood tests after our third loss as per NHS guidelines but they haven't done them and we subsequently had a fourth loss in November :(

After I saw them in August for a HyCoSy they said three months to start either letrozole if periods are still irregular or IVF if they regulate. Had to contact them in September as they diagnosed PCOS but was told all clear in the letter so they resent that and reiterated the three months for treatment to start.

Today been contacted by our third consultant after nagging (they never arranged our appointment) and were told nope sorry no treatment yet we need to do these blood tests... We are moving to Australia in march so now don't have time to do the cycle :( we will have to pay in Aus for IVF so we've just wasted a year and lost two babies :(

Oh I’m so sorry, I take it this was through the NHS? DH and I tried for 12 months naturally and then went straight into self-funding IVF, I just wanted to get on with things and private IVF can start straight away after some basic quick tests. Whereas the NHS seem to have long waiting lists and all these delays, plus we would have had to have kept trying for another year before even starting that process. I can only imagine how frustrated you must be. And with the emotional toil of the miscarriages and being passed from person to person, that’s so annoying.

I hope that you can get something sorted and happening quickly in Australia. Can you get the blood tests done before you go? If I were you I’d get copies of all the test results, at least that way you won’t need to go through it all from the beginning in Australia.

@Gardenlady543yes this was through the NHS. We tried for 12 months and then got referred to the clinic and were meant to start now after another 12 months like you said.

We were expecting my visa to take a long time to approve so we are happy that at least we can go sooner than we thought and at least can take these results with us. There are some fantastic clinics over there that are part paid for and part out of pocket, so I'm looking forward to getting that referral to them :) I just don't know if I even trust these results now that we've already had done.
