Hello,

Would really appreciate some advice, we have been receiving fertility treatment, however the clinic we are at do not do Ivf. I recently had a hyscoy that showed my fallopian tubes were damaged, so the clinic have referred me to another one for Ivf.
I have just heard back from the new clinic who have asked me to get my GP to refer to them :/... I am 39, I am only eligible for NHS treatment until October. So time is tight. And I just dread the thought of having to go back to the beginning, having all the tests with GP again needed for referral. I have just had a period, so my next one won't be until febrauary/March (I have long cycles) for us to repeat the day 3 bloods needed for the referral. Just feel like it's not going to happen via NHS, but my partner is reluctant to go private whilst we are eligible for NHS treatment. I don't understand why I need to go back to the beginning with the referral process.
Not sure what my question is, just needed to vent!

If you've already been receiving some form fertility treatment - I'm presuming IUI on the NHS - then they shouldn't need to repeat all the tests. They'll just do the ones which have an expiry on them - eg sperm test and a couple of blood tests. The GP referral is just a standard procedure - even if you were to go private most clinics request a referral from the GP too
I'd jump on it sooner rather than later though as wait times are really long at the moment due to covid - some are being told 1-2 years in which case you'd miss your October cut off
