Confused about FET cycle timings

Hi guys

Hopefully you can help me please?! I had my fresh cycle in November but had to freeze all as I was ill with OHSS. So now I'm getting ready to do an FET cycle but I'm really confused on the timings as I'm being given conflicting information by my clinic. The website of my clinic, the consultant on the phone and the videos they made me watch as part of the consents stated the following -

Day 21 - start Buserelin
A week later have a bleed and come in for scan and bloods on day 2 or 3, add in oestrogen
Continue with scans and add progesterone plus stop Buserelin around day 9
Transfer around 5 days later ie around day 14

Nurse booking my appointments and my protocol letter states -

Day 21 - start Buserelin
Two and a half weeks later ie day 9/10 go for a scan and start adding oestrogen
Two weeks after that (day 23/24) attend for a scan, stop taking Buserelin and add in progesterone
Transfer a few days later ie around day 28

The nurse said this is the standard protocol but it's different from everything else I've seen or been told by my clinic. Would anyone mind sharing their experience please?

Hiya,

I’m kinda in the same boat as you. I ended up with an unexpected freeze all in September. I’m currently in the down reg stage of my first FET.
I’m not sure if this will help because my medication is different but these are my timings:

Prostap injection on day 21 to down regulate. I had this on the 30th Nov.

Scan to check lining 17 days later and add in estrogen if everything looks ok. (This will be cycle day 10 for me as my period started the other day.)

Scan again 13 days later to check lining thickness. ( cycle day 23)

If all ok then add in progesterone and then transfer 5/6 days later. (Cycle day 28/29)

Hope that makes sense and isn’t too jumbled.

Obviously it’s different for everyone and these are just estimated dates for me so far. Just hoping I can stay on schedule.

When are you looking at starting @MF1981?

Hmmmm @SheepytheDuck that sounds very similar to what the nurse said and my letter as well. Due to start on 20th December - wonderful timing over Christmas! But I'm impatient and want to get the transfer done asap.

It’s so frustrating how long everything takes isn’t it? I was gutted when I realised how much longer an fet would take, especially after the disappointment of a freeze all.

When I was booking in the nurse said I could postpone another month if i didn’t want to be doing it over Christmas but I’m like you, I just want to get it done.

All the best for your cycle!

Thank you. I’m just concerned they’re adding the oestrogen in too late. They don’t seem to understand me when I’m asking the questions either as they just say it’s their standard cycle. I also really want to insist on them testing my progesterone as I usually spot during my luteal phase but this has only happened since they originally checked my levels at the beginning of the year. I just want to give my best blasts the best possible chance. Good luck to you too x
