Ovulation

Hi ladies. I had my day 21 progesterone levels taken on Wednesday (on clomid) and they showed I had ovulated. However, all my OPK’s up until that point had been negative. So I have no idea when I actually ovulated. Does anybody have an idea? Thank you

Usually 7 days prior to your bloods

Ovulation likely occured a day or so beforehand but you will not know for definite. The blood test is indeed the best indicator here that you ovulated. Will you be similarly monitored next month too?.

Would not use OPKs at all whilst on clomid as the drug can encourage more LH to be produced. These kits can be misleading at best and wrong at worst. If you've been prescribed clomid because of PCO for instance, this is yet another reason not to use such kits.

@AttilaTheMeerkat the bloods are not done a day after, they need to be seven days after to confirm ovulation

@willithappen so if my bloods were taken on the 2nd, I would likely have ovulated 7 days before?

@Rolo08 if you had a the right levels from the bloods on that day then yeah. It could be off a day or two from it but they generally need to do these tests 7 days after you believe you ovulated. That's why it's called day 21 as they base it off a 28 day cycle. So technically 'day 21' can be on different days for people depending on their cycle lengths.
