Hi

Can anyone tell me what happens at the consultation

We are looking at the 50% refund 3 cycles program and have just booked our consultation in but it's ages away !

Just seeing if anyone could shed some light and wondered what the ' meds ' are

It's all new to me

I can try and help but I'm a newbie to ivf so forgive me if I forget everything.

On our consultation we were asked about our medical history, any children, children from previous relationships and if any struggles to conceive on both sides.
Asked about our lifestyle. Basically just getting some history from you and your partner and then the consultant went on say what treatment he would like to do and the reasons why. Oh he also went through my partners SA results too and my afc scan. (What we he had to have done before the consultation)

I think your meds will depend what protocol you are put on either 'long' or 'short'
I am on a short protocol, I took northisterone to induce a bleed and then start my stimulation injections on day 2 of that bleed, I only inject for 10 days or so before egg collection where as a long protocol would involve down regulation of the ovaries first (I think)
