Hi,

Just wondering if any one has been given norethisterone for delaying period before IVF for longer than 10 days? I know it can be taken up to 17..

Thanks @willithappen. I’m testing on 13th February. I bet your looking forward to getting it started?

willithappen · 01/02/2021 22:48

Ah no urges to test early?

Yeah I'm super excited!

Pipsqueak224 · 02/02/2021 14:46

@Jaqattack I am 34 with PCOS so I was always at higher risk of overstimulation. I have ended up with 19 good quality in the freezer, so grateful with that! Given how many eggs I got I couldn't have a fresh transfer sadly have to wait a bit. You should be really pleased with that result! x

Hi all, I started spotting by day 6 after embryo transfer. It was like death by a 1000 cuts. By day 9 after embryo transfer I had full period with well meaning friends saying “hey stay postive, you could still be pregnant”. I had to continue with all medication until I got a negative test. Sigh.
I’m waiting until March 9th for new appointment with NHS.
How are you all doing?

Pipsqueak224 · 23/02/2021 15:26

Oh I'm sorry to hear that. Did you get some embryo's in the freezer? At least you don't have too long to wait for follow up.

I'm struggling atm, just waiting to be able to start my frozen transfer cycle. I had a follow up last week and I'm waiting for period to start before anything. I was wanting it to come naturally but if it does it will be ages away so they might just start me earlier. I'm so done waiting for everything. I also didn't realise how long a frozen transfer cycle is.

I am actually enjoying being in lockdown, because I don't have to put on a brave face. I know it probably sounds stupid, but I have a friend who is expecting just as we come out of lockdown, it's so hard 😔 x

@Pipsqueak224, it’s horrible all the waiting. I waited for two years to conceive, then had to wait to get the front of the queue with NHS, then another year because of COVID. So feel you girl.

I haven’t been great either, I’m randomly crying at least once a day. I feel totally hopeless. I made the mistake of thinking this is going to be successful and sadly there is a high percentage rate that’s it’s not, but you know....”stay positive” eyeroll

Your comments about your friend being pregnant is not stupid at all. I managed to swerve a zoom baby shower on Sunday, but then spent the entire time feeling guilty about feeling shit. I then had to deactivate my Facebook account due to another friend getting pregnant. I can’t even cope with baby pictures at the moment and EVERYONE a seems to want to send me pictures/videos of their kids.

I got 2 in the freezer but I have to wait until March 9th before I know what the next steps are. The fertility institute is keeping me in the dark until then. What’s the process for FET? Do you have to inject at all? I think I’d prefer injections rather than the pessary at least I know it’s working.

Bah! What a bag of 💩it all is.

Pipsqueak224 · 23/02/2021 18:54

@Jaqattack we are pretty much on the same timeline. We tried for 2 years then referred to fertility and tried clomid first and then COVID happened. We are 3 years this April trying.

I'm going through the same feelings atm, just crying randomly. I just know when lockdown is lifted I get to be around a new born baby whilst I'm still going through IVF. Some people just have no idea eh! Anyway, I've had my vent ha

I believe for FET it's 5 weeks from starting injections (buserelin) to transfer and natural I'm not sure. Just when you think you go through the longest part, there's more to come...

@Pipsqueak224 how did your results go and also interested in your age with that amount of eggs. I start stims next week and so nervous x

Pipsqueak224 · 16/03/2021 22:55

@Lclarke111 I'm 34 but have PCOS so that's why I got so many eggs. I was very lucky with 19 embryo's frozen, but because of the large number, it meant freeze all. I've just started back up with injections for my frozen transfer. Is this your first cycle? It is such a nervous process but goes quickly x

@Pipsqueak224it is so strange, I have suffered from pcos all my life, when I had all my tests they said "you don't have any cysts or signs of pcos" yet I was diagnosed at 16, had numerous scans where the cysts were really bad, I am 35 and so I do expect probably a larger amount of eggs but unsure on how many will be mature, our problem is my husband has low sperm count but all my levels etc have been perfect, sostayinv hopeful x

Lclarke111 · 16/03/2021 23:10

First cycle and was told to have pgs, but my oh has had his chromosome analaysis and is perfect, his low speed count isn't to do with that and my levels are all perfect, so I wonder whether we should just see how we go and not go for testing on our first try, really unsure on whether that's a good method for you first try xx

Pipsqueak224 · 12/04/2021 17:42

How's everyone going with their treatment x
