Hi there, I’m interested in the natural modified ivf 3 cycle package and wonder if anyone can help . Do you get more than one egg retrieved per cycle? I rang create and got an annoying lady who kept harping on about it only takes one ! but couldn’t clarify how many eggs they try to retrieve as they had no stats .
I just wanted to understand if they only ever target to get one or try to push a little to get more than that . I got 7 eggs with high dose stimms but only two to blast and pgs test - so ideally looking for two blasts per cycle (or more!) thanks

There very much seems to be a difference of opinion on natural modified between create branches - I was with Birmingham and also did the 3 cycle package of natural modified. 2 of the cycles I got 2 eggs and 1 cycle I got 7. My friend who did one cycle got 7 on hers also. Birmingham said to us they still look to get more than one egg

If they only intend on going after one egg you'd be better saving yourself the money on drugs and doing natural IVF where you definitely are only going to get 1 egg

Thanks @ivfbeenbusy I definitely want more than one! I just heard somewhere that St. Paul’s London focuses on one egg retrieval per cycle . That’s no good for me as I need to pgs test , so it’s a numbers game . 7 is incredible on one cycle ! Do you have high amh / Antral follicles x

My AMH was actually below average for my age at 12.9 and antral follicle count around 8-10.

I PGS tested when I did short protocol but after getting abysmal results and no normals decided to stop testing and didnt test my blastocysts from natural Modified - I'm 28 weeks with twins from the 2 eggs I had collected on that very first egg collection.

I got the same number of blastocysts over 2 natural modified cycles (4 in total) that I did in 2 rounds of higher dose short protocol but they were much better quality with natural modified so don't write it off completely

Short protocol- 2 cycles - 28 eggs less than 30% fertilised with ICSI and 4 average blastocysts.

Natural modified - 2 cycles - 9 eggs 100% fertilised with ICSI and 4 top quality blastocysts

So I just did short protocol got 6 fertilised and 2 blasts gone for pgs . I’m not holding out much hope for success with two.
If I got 2 per cycle and then total 6 , it’s a bit more worthwhile . We have different stats and I’m 40 so that makes a difference 😔 I think .
It’s tough , I’ve short listed the lister - 3 cycles and crgh 2 cycles - perhaps trying lower stims . I was on max 600 stims this last cycle .
Then create is on there too. Like most where to put your 15 K precious And hard earned money ?!

Out of 7 eggs collected , 6 fertilised on highest stimms so the fertilisation rate was good x

@ivfbeenbusy your success is always at the back of my mind in the decision, and why create is in the running x

stumbling across posts, in a similar position - how did you get on OP? I hope all worked out whatever way that looks like xx

Sunshinelove8 · 23/01/2023 09:51

Hi @LAURAPAX I’m sorry to hear you are going through this. I had ivf at Argc and immunes with Gorgy and had my rainbow 🌈 I had an immune issue it seems, where my body was attacking the embryos as half dna was my husband’s. I had lots of losses too.
I didn’t go to create as wasn’t right for me in the end

Oh also my success was from a second cycle. The first one I have one normal on ice still
