SIS/Hycosy tomorrow- so nervous

Hi,

I have my SIS/Hycosy tomorrow and I'm so scared. I find smear tests really difficult so I don't imagine it's going to be pleasant.

Any tips or good stories?

We have our review app straight after so also very stressed about that!

Thanks

Hello OP. I know everyone has a different experience but mine was a positive one! Like you, I was really nervous ( I'm terrible with pain) I really got myself worked up. But it was honestly absolutely fine!! The procedure itself was painless, just try to relax and take some painkillers before hand as the cramping afterwards for me was quite painful, but like I say the procedure was fine! It's so interesting to see what is going on inside! I wish you the best of luck! Xx

Hi Nichola :)

I am in the same boat lovely, got mine on the 4th Dec and instantly freaked out.

But lots of lovely women reassured me that it's fine! And the ones who said it was uncomfortable, still found it bearable as it's such a quick test.

Painkillers about an hour beforehand and staying calm seems to be the best advice. I'm going to ask the doctor to talk me though everything he's doing as he does it as I think it'll make me relax more.

You'll be absolutely fine 💕 were much stronger than we think and I'm just focusing on the fact it'll lead us to our next steps.

Xxx

I think with these things we only ever hear the horror stories! X

So I had it earlier and it was absolutely fine. There was pain for about 90secs and that was it. I expected it to be so much worse, and it really was ok, probably easier than a smear for me.

Delighted it's done.

@Nichola2310 well done!! Such a relief it's all over, we get ourselves worked up for nothing! Was it good news? X

@lepardprint my results were all great, but my husbands semen analysis was disappointing. We're now trying to decide how long to keep trying for, before trying IVF with ICSI. It's impossible to know what to do.

Aaaah well done @Nichola2310 🥰

Glad to hear you're all okay. Did the doc say anything about any treatment options before trying ivf etc?

My husbands SA came back with 1% morphology which isn't impossible but it's not great.

If all is okay with my tubes we've got to try 6 months of clomid before he'll set up a date for IVF so I'm hoping it works 🥺

Nichola2310 · 19/11/2020 20:11

@HalfPenny28

No he said it's either try naturally or IVF. He said clomid wasn't an option due to my high AMH and follicle count, as the risk of multiples would be too high.
