Morphology 3

We have had two SA results that indicate a morphology of 3.

Would this realistically prevent natural conception? Could it be a factor in recurrent miscarriage.

All other tests clear and awaiting referral to ivf pending a stone weight loss.

So they say 4% is normal (and anything above of course)
My partner has 1%, although his count and motility were above average so they say this counteracts the low morphology and have put us as unexplained due to this.

It is possible to conceive with less than 4%, it just might make the odds a little less but as they say it only needs one!

@willithappen thank you

I will find out what the other levels were.

Hope everything goes well for you

@cherrypiepie hope you get the answers you need soon!

I think we are starting IVF in Jan, have our top of list appointment this month anyway. Unexplained so feels a bit like we're hopeless with doing anything to help.

Keeping everything crossed for you.

We have had two miscarriages in 4 years so we are in a weird situation.

We will keep trying for another 6 months but I'm 40 so only have a very short window left.

@cherrypiepie will you be trying for six and then on to IVF options?
I only ask as it's been over a year since we first went to doctors about this, so it's taken some time. I'd advise going sooner than later.

Of course you may have done this or have your reasons for not doing it.

We are under the fertility consultant at our local hospital. We have had all the tests at the sub-fertility clinic and recurrent miscarriage clinics and will be referred for ivf in 6 months or when i lose a stone. If we do conceive I have progesterone and aspirin to take.

We were referred to the consultant just over a year ago. I was wondering what impact the low SA would have had and you have answered it thank you. We need to be referred to the nearest ivf clinic as they don't do where my consultant is. Covid has delayed things awfully. I have until I am 42.
