Hi everyone, had an egg collection this morning and since have been feeling so nauseous and throwing up. Any tips? Most people seem to be fine after 😕

I would call your clinic. They should have given you a number you can call out of hours. Also had egg collection this morning and feeling fine but if not I’d be ringing the clinic.

Thanks for replying, I already called the clinic dr who said it’s to be expected and go to A&E if I feel worse. I feel about the same so have resorted to that yet...

I hope you feel better soon. Did they get a lot of eggs? Could be on the way to overstimulation and I think drinking drinks with electrolytes in them can help like lucozade sport. Can you send your partner out to stock up!

This is my 4th egg collection and I’ve never thrown up. Usually just bloated sore and constipation so I’m surprised the dr said it’s to be expected.

Take care.

I was really sick after egg collection for the whole day. I am pretty sure it was the pain meds they gave me.

Thank you @Thentherewasyou I did have a lot of eggs collected so maybe that’s why it was so bad. In the end I got desperate and called 111 which resulted in a dr prescribing some anti sickness tablets and one of those stopped it within a couple of hours. Feeling a lot better today! Will stock up on lucozade!

@Rd12 so sorry to hear you went through this too, it was so awful. Yeah I wonder if it was the meds as well...

Glad you’re feeling better. If you got lots of eggs you could be at risk of OHSS especially with being sick so hydrate hydrate hydrate today!

I nearly threw up about 20 mins after egg collection. They gave me anti sickness tablets and another to take home just in case. If you need another round (hopefully not!) ask for them at the time. I do generally feel that way after any anaesthetic so maybe warn them if you ever need a proper anaesthetic.

@Thentherewasyou my husband brought me the lucozade, sipping away 😊

@seven201 thanks well at least it isn’t just me that reacts like this. Definitely will be asking for anti sickness meds if I have to do this again. It was an absolute nightmare yesterday! Even managed to the type the word “up” as “e” in the title, really couldn’t see straight!
