5 miscarriages, no idea why!

My miscarriages have all been early, diagnosed at 6 week pregnancy scan when there was no heartbeat. I had SMMs to manage all.

  • I've been through both Kings and St Mary's Recurrent Miscarriage clinics- everything was normal, except a slight clotting issue identified through TEG , as I don't seem to dissolve clots as quickly as normal. Was prescribed Heparin for this but still miscarried.
  • Have been to Professor Brosens for uNK cell test which came back as low.
  • My partner's sperm has slightly high sperm DNA fragmentation but Doctors say that this isn't the cause.
  • We have healthy lifestyles. I'm 36 and my husband is 41.

No one seems to be able to help, I find it really hard that we have no answers.

Can anybody suggest anything or share their own experience please?
Thank you!

Sorry to hear this ThanksCould you be coeliac? It might be worth giving up gluten for a 'no stone unturned' approach. It seems to work for women who recurrently miscarry - good luck x

Hi
So sorry to hear about ur mc
I had 6 before I had my son.

Never really worked out what was wrong either but I had some aggressive immune tx and pgs and it worked for my son.

A lot of people have good success seeing mr shehata for mc. I mc with him and ended up needing ivf so eventually had success with mr gorgy in London and care.

Sperm fragmention has been linked to mc certainly (we saw a top urologist but never had ours tested as his count was too low to test it). I would suggest seeing someone
About this often tx with high dose vitamins but need to make sure there’s no reason for it like a varicole

I suspect with me my issue was poor quality embryos. I certainly had one mc which was tested as trisomy and my first pgs worked. I was 30-34 while trying so was young but I got preg very quickly and I think my body didn’t filter out what it needed to. However mr shetata believed it was my immunes and I did have a lot of immune tx with my success (and 2 mc before but still mc).

Good luck x

Hi @Alilemon came across your post as I have been diagnosed with low NK killer cells and have suffered two miscarriages from natural conception. Now going through IVF with PGTA testing as i thought that was the issue. I see you have low NK cells too - did you have a protocol to support with this? I am struggling to find much online. Usually ladies with high who have steroids. I hope you are doing well whatever way that looks. xxx
