AMH/PCOS

Hi,
I had a miscarriage in May and before this had absent periods for 4 months.
I havent had a period since this so 5 months again.

In Feb I had hormone bloods that were all completely normal.

My Dr wasn't helping so we decided to go private, they did bloods called AMH and these come back at 154. The consultant said that this is extremely high and would suggest PCOS.

My question is, has anyone else had a result like this and what sort of treatments were you offered?

Thank you 😊

Hiya I am so sorry to hear about your miscarriage I have pcos and endometriosis my first treatment was clomid, then hormone injections and recently just had ovarian drilling they can offer you different things depending on your pcos have you had an internal scan to check your ovaries? Xx

Hi! Got my scan next week! I'd had one done somewhere else that didn't find anything but this consultant has said the scan they did wasn't great (annoying as it was £130).
I just haven't seen AMH levels anywhere near as high as mine online but the consultant said it can be a good thing that I have so many follicles. Just confused really.
What is ovarian drilling if you don't mind me asking? X

@j2020m I think my Amh was ok as it was never flagged to be the issue so I am not too sure but if you have pcos it may mean you do not ovulate because the follicles do not mature ovarian drilling is keyhole surgery where they laser the follicles as you have too much with pcos which allows spontaneous ovulation xxx

Hi @JAM2020 my AMH is high (though not as high as 124 think it’s about 70?) abs I have pcos as diagnosed on a scan.

I had a lap to diagnose Adenomyosis, and scans and laparoscopy all demonstrated pcos too. I had ovarian drilling at the same time.

I’m seeing the consultant for my follow up on Thursday and to discuss clomid. They’ll probably put you on that first before considering surgery (I only had mine because of the Adenomyosis so made sense to drill at the same time!)
Though the AMH will guide your consultant as there is a risk of over stimulating the ovaries with clomid.

Get your scan results and go from there. Good luck xx
