What’s the stupidest thing you’ve been told during ttc journey? (Lighthearted)

Hi all, I’m sure there are plenty of stories if you want to share them / rant about them!!

My stupidity moment happened today! I’m due to start a cycle of IVF in a different country with remote monitoring here with a different clinic. Have a baseline scan booked for Monday as My period is due on Saturday. I asked clinic when should I call them if my period is delayed to rearrange the baseline scan.

Nurse told me they are very busy and I would need to confirm with her now on the phone whether my period would be arriving on Saturday as otherwise she needed to give someone else my appointment 🤯🤯

She then told me if it was late the next time she could fit me in for a baseline scan was November 18th —- which would be nearly 3 weeks into my cycle!! 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

One of my parents said with a wink wink nudge nudge we "wouldn't be needing that IVF" with lockdown and being home together with nothing else to do......I had to politely remind them I'd had both tubes removed due to ruptured ectopics and it would need to be a bloody miracle 🤦‍♀️

I did laugh at that one for once but I've been on the receiving end of loads of stupid and ignorant comments which were more hurtful

All the usual 'relax' or 'when you relax' stuff. I'm sure the cysts on my ovaries disagree. Also, keep getting asked about losing weight will it change. Doesn't help the feelings of self-blame!

We have MFI, a friend suggested a secretly have sex with someone else rather than going through with IVF. Wtf 🤬
