Transfer when clinic advise to cancel FET

Has anyone managed to go ahead with a transfer when the clinic have advised to cancel the FET cycle? I have lining issues and last month I got to 5.9mm and then it was cancelled. They have changed my protocol this month but I'm stuck on a very similar thickness and can't get any thicker. I have an upcoming scan where I'm 99% sure they are going to try and cancel the transfer. I'm pretty sure that this is my max lining thickness and want to go ahead with a transfer. I'm very very fortunate to have 14 embryos in the freezer so although I know the chance of implantation is very low, I would like to give it a shot and transfer 1 or even 2. I presume the consultant will get the last say about what happens, but do I get any input with what happens with my body and my embryos? How far so I argue to have a transfer? Has anybody got any successful stories of the clinic allowing a transfer when the consultants want to cancel please?

You can always ask and they might be willing to try it with one embryo? You'd be going against medical opinion though and they may still say no also because if they whole heartedly believe it's going to fail then it will ultimately affect their published success ratings and they may not want to do that either?

I probably wouldn't use your best quality ones though. I'd try one of the lower graded ones if you are going to try this out as a tester?

Thanks @ivfbeenbusy. Yes I think they will have their stats at the front of their mind as it's likely I'll push down the implantation rate 😔 And yes I would never use the very best quality with poor lining, I think like number 4/5 in the ranking

@ivfjourney5 I had the same issue prior to my last transfer. Going to see if a tweak in protocol can get it thicker but my consultant said he's not overly concerned so long as I have a triple layer apperance

Thanks @TTCIVF. Unfortunately since I posted this the clinic have rang and everything is cancelled due to a covid outbreak at the clinic! A place that's meant to be covid secure, but numerous staff have tested positive! I guess it's not meant to be...

@ivfjourney5 oh no well at least the decision wasn't in your control. What meds have they got you on?

ivftake1 · 29/10/2020 08:38

That's awful. So sorry.

Cases will slip through I guess.. how unlucky.

At least the decision can't be on your shoulders this time xx

That's so disappointing @ivfjourney5. Hopefully next time the lining will be improved too.

Do you mind me asking what clinic it is? Will you have to pay for all your medication again next time even though they have cancelled?
