Infertility appointment but had an ectopic while on waiting list

Hi all just looking opinions/advice really. TTC since October 2018, got referred to fertility in October 2019 by GP. Just received my appointment letter for the fertility appointment next month but in June I fell pregnant but it sadly ended up in an ectopic. So I'm not sure if I should attend the fertility appointment as I've obviously been able to get pregnant. Just wondering if this has happened anyone else?

Yes. Attend.

I had two chemicals in the 17 months of ttc before I went to the clinic. They said I had done the right thing getting in touch with them. I had no further pregnancies for the next year when I had ivf.

@physicskate thank you for your reply. My natural reaction was to still attend the appointment, just wasn't sure where I stood.

I would suggest you let them know what's happened at the appointment. I did because I didn't want them to treat me incorrectly, ifyswim!

@physicskate oh yes I definitely will. My fertility appointment is at the same hospital I was managed for my ectopic so it will all be on the system. Thanks again for your advice, was worried they'd be annoyed I still took the appointment.

Definitely go. I was referred after a year and got pregnant while waiting for my appointment. I had a missed miscarriage before my first appointment, I was worried they'd send me away, but the consultant didn't bat an eyelid and I had further investigations. I had another missed miscarriage and then I was referred for ivf (with a diagnosis of unexplained infertility), so it's not affected me being offered treatment.

I'm sorry for your loss ❤️

@VenusStarr thank you for reply. That's exactly what I was thinking, that they'd say I no longer qualify as I've been able to fall pregnant. That's really useful to know that it didn't affect your options. Aw thank you, and sorry to hear about your loses too 💜
