Hi I just wanted a bit of advice and if any one has had any success stories regarding IVF and male infertility. My husband was diagnosed with lymphoma when he was 21 I was 19 he froze his sperm before treatment. After his chemo treatment spoke to the docs about his fertility and they said it’s fine because treatment was successful. We got married two and half years ago I’m now 26 and he’s 28 we were ttc but not successful didn’t think much of it , last year went to the docs, referred us to gyno , he did another fertility test basically said 0 sperm. I literally felt like crying right there in the hospital. If only the doctor listened to me all those years back, could have got tested earlier and maybe something could have helped. Been referred for IVF , but because of covid delays in appointment. I have my bloods and pelvic exam next month. Don’t know what to do or what to expect. No one in my family has ever gone through this so don’t know who to speak to or what to do and I’m just going mad googling everything.

Hi love not in the same situation as you but I am about to go for ivf icsi we been trying for 3 years and we try natural for a year. Then were at the acu unit for year and now here we were suppose to get ivf the covid hit so getting it now fingers cross. What my advice to you is they ask alot about your period and how many days you on and the flow so I would get a period tracker on your phone it been a god send for me half the time I just hand them my phone and they work it out . Also what I can remember is be prepare for the wait you wait alot for appointment and stuff. Just take time for your self try not to obsess about it that bit easy said then do as I obess about everything lol. I also remember you get alot of bloods taken and scans and we tried different things before we were referred to IVF. But everyone's journey is different so you just have to wait and see what there plan is for you both I wish you both well and you get your wish lv xxx

Yeah I know it’s hard not to I’ve literally been up all night on google 😅 a lot of bloods ? Great lol I am the worst with blood tests but hopefully it all be worth it , Thank-you once again I really appreciate it, I’ve gotten a bit of clarity now I hope everything goes well for you ❤️

Yes they mention it all the time lv I am silm but you also can't be to silm or over weight they talk about healthy eating for both of you and to cut smoking and drinking well all the good stuff out I obsessed over supplements and things turns out they not bother I spent a fortune on them and as long as you are on folic acid 400g that all that matters xxx

Oh ok , I’m trying to loose a bit of weight till my appointment next month as I don’t want any more delays. Initially we were referred for androlgoy test in august 2019. I take multivitamins and black seed oil for good healthy regularly but shall I start taking folic now because the docs have not said anything about that yet xx

Folic acid and vit d is recommended from three months before pregnancy, minimum. Obviously, it isn't possible for every pregnancy, but that's the recommendation when it's possible.

Sunny07 · 17/10/2020 13:38

Okay that’s great I’ll start taking them both now as I am usually always low in vitamin d hence why I take multivitamins, Thankyou @physicskate
