The waiting and the waiting and the more waiting

So we always knew we would likely need IVF. My DH is a cancer survivor. We started his treatment six months before we were married and are now 18 months into various treatments - getting his Sperm Count from 0 to 200-700k (depending on the day). It's been a long wait to see if medicine is working. Went to see a specialist yesterday and he said we could start now if we wanted to but we'd be more likely to get better results in January once the newest medication has taken time to settle a bit, also need to do some other bits and pieces inc checking him to varicole etc.

We have barely started this journey and I am already so bored of all this waiting around. Every time i think we are near there is another delay.

Just want someone to knock me up already!!

How's everyone else cope with it esp during Covid when nothing else really to distract you

Hey @Bells3032 I've not been on this journey quite as long as you but I feel your pain on the whole waiting situation. Currently waiting to start my first IVF cycle- a few appointments in the diary for November so hoping it all starts then! Sometimes i feel infertility/IVF is all I think about. A year ago i had a life outside trying to get knocked-up but now I don't seem to think about anything else. I think Covid is making it worse as there is nothing to distract us. We can't plan holidays or catch-ups with friends so it can seem that all we have in the diary is our next appointment at the fertility clinic. It is also hard seeing lots of friends get pregnant this year when it is something I desperately want and it seems to come so easily to some people.
Sending you lots of positive vibes. Sounds like you guys are on the right track and things are moving in a positive direction. xx
