Hi everyone, I just wanted to post to see if anyone has had the same experience as me and the outcome. Me and my husband have been trying to conceive for 3 years i have a period every month. I am 29 and I was diagnosed with pcos last year I have tryed clomid, injections with Timed intercourses and now I will be going for ovarian drilling this week.

I ovulated on both clomid and injections so I am not too sure how this will help has anyone else had the same experience? Xx

I was due have ovarian drilling this year but it got cancelled due to covid. Then we decided to go for ivf and typically got a call back for the op but I decided against it as our circumstances have changed. But I've heard good things about it! Apparently it can restore ovulation and basically "cure" pcos but it is only temporary. A lot of women seem to get pregnant within 6 months of having the op
It may still be an option for me in the future so would be good if you kept this thread updated ? 👍🏻 and good luck

Btw I wasn't ovulating at all, we also have been trying for three years, tried clomid and it made me ovulate, got put on metformin which has been great and I now have a regular 28 day cycle but still wasn't conceiving. Turns out my partner most recent SA shown really low sperm count where as it was above perfect before, so basically things can change. Was your partners sa all okay?

@cosmo30 I am one week post op now and they drilled the pcos and also found mild endometriosis which I am shocked about but this was also lasered off My gynaecologist has advised if we do not conceive within 3 months he will refer me for ivf so fingers cross. My husband has lower then average sperm but they have advised it was not low enough for us not to conceive Confused but then he has not been tested since last year I am guessing his next test will be if we are referred for ivf but really hoping the drilling has worked. If you don’t mind me asking When are you starting ivf ? I will keep updating thank you 😊 good luck and baby dust to you too Xx

Hi @Lotusflower1990000 I hope you are recovering well! How are you feeling?

I had my lap 2 weeks ago and going back to work tomorrow. The lap was primarily for Adenomyosis and to laser some adhesions but I also had ovarian drilling for my PCOS “whilst we’re in there”. I haven’t had a follow up yet but do you think they’ll suggest clomid (I haven’t had that yet)?

I really hope the drilling works for you- 3 months takes you just into the new year doesn’t it?

I’m getting the odd pains on either side but feel 100x better than I did a week ago. Wondering if that’s from the drilling.

Rest up x

Oh, well I hope you're recovering well!! Did you have any symptoms of endo?? The doctors always thought I'd shown possible signs of endo and was also going to look whilst doing the ovarian drilling so interesting to hear they found some with you. We're hopefully starting ivf in the next 3 weeks, I'm excited but pretty nervous too

I have had this surgery performed because of PCOS and endometriosis (which was only discovered during this surgery). The worst part of the surgery was the shoulder pain post op (the CO2 that is used to give the surgeon a better view travels upwards) which lasted for a day or so but painkillers took the edge off it. I was advised to take a couple of days off work post op.

I became pregnant as a direct result of this surgery😀

@Fro93 ah we are on a similar time frame in relation to the OP I am feeling a lot better Thank you yes I definitely think you are feeling the twinges because of the drilling it is meant to lower testosterone and regulate your hormones etc I have found I have been crying a lot more :s so There must be something happening Lol I was put on clomid for 3 months before drilling and did ovulate but did not conceive I would definitely put if forward to your gyno as a suggestion when are you due a follow up? Have they given you a time frame? xxx

@cosmo30 aww that is amazing news hoping all goes well for you Please keep us updated too I did not have any symptoms they only discovered the ENDO due to surgery and it was stage 2 which scared me a little I did have really bad PCOS symptoms so I am not too sure if the symptoms just over lap potentially but it was never mentioned to me by my gyno Xx
