Hi
I am 5 weeks 6 days pregnant with baby no 3. I have had 4 miscarriages in the past since January 2019. I had a scan at the EPU today due to my history. According to my dates there was a yolk and sac and everything is looking good so they discharged me. On the notes it says i have hydrosalpinx within the left area of uterus. The EPU nurse didnt seem concerned and told me to self refer to the midwife. I just had a look on google and hydrosalpinx affects the embryo implanting therefore increases risk of miscarriage. So im now waiting to potentially miscarriage... Anyone any experience of this. It was never picked up before on any ultrasound ever until now...

As far as I know, the only way to actually confirm a hydrosalpinx is to do a laparoscopy. My IVF clinic think I have a right sided one (seen on ultrasound only, not confirmed by lap) and am 9 weeks pregnant after an embryo transfer. My docs not too concerned about it. I would advise not googling as you always get worst case scenario

It‘s only an issue if it releases fluid into your uterus. Mine does release fluid during stimms so I wasn’t allowed to transfer until I’d had the tube removed, as the fluid can come & go in early pregnancy. So if it didn’t get picked up then you’re most likely fine. Fingers crossed for your pregnancy Flowers

@Rainbowbaby3 I was just wondering how you’re getting on? I’m 5 weeks pregnant with hydrosalpinx and feel so down. I feel like ectopic or miscarriage are almost certain. I have a scan next week to check.

I am just wondering how both of you went? Pregnant with hydrosalpinx and looking for others who have been through it. Thank you

I had my baby boy in March this year, it didn’t cause any problems :)
