Stopping meds 2ww

Hello all!

I’m day 6pt6d - I’ve had two (very evident early on) failures in the past and my symptoms this time are identical to the first. I have tested - and it’s was a very clear negative

I have absolutely no side effects from the pessaries (thankfully!) up until day 4/5 when I get all of the symptoms of my AF. These have both FET so I should be running with my natural timings of things, and so these AF symptoms are (to the hour!) on time. By the end of day 5 I had a searing/burning pain which I had on my second cycle - which soon turned into a heavy bleed (obviously negative!) (I almost wonder if they are early miscarriages? )

I’d rather not continue with all the hormones but I’ve been told to keep going- but honestly, I just want to stop so I can grieve and start afresh. I’ve been told not to stop because this could reflect badly if I need to use donor eggs or go nhs for subsequent cycles...

Has anyone stopped meds early ?

I did on a couple of my failed rounds but it was more like 8dp5dt

(If your day 6 was frozen and put back at day 5 id class that as 6dp5dt so 11DPO which might still be a little early to get a BFP)

Thanks! :)

Was there any problems with you stopping early?

I’m pretty confident with the symptoms that it’s not going to work out for me this cycle (All I can assume from the severity of the pain it’s a super early miscarriage but because of the pessaries things aren’t moving as they would naturally?) so if it were up to me I’d be stopping today...

But I really don’t want to get marked as a ‘problem patient’ and lose my chance at a donor (I’m already using donor sperm and I’ve had 20+ eggs both times with only two fertilised so I’m starting to suspect there’s something not right !) Where there any problems with you stopping?

(Thank you)

To be honest I didn't tell my clinic.....my official test day was 9dp5dt so pretty early and I knew if I hadn't got a BFP by 7dp5dt then I was most likely out and I was confidant I knew my body etc. Once I stopped the medication I got my period within a couple of days

I’m sorry to hear this @WeavingWandering. I’d just be cautious that it means the worst. So many women have had such bad pains, period symptoms etc thinking they were clearly out but had positive tests. And it seems too early for a positive now. And no two pregnancies or cycles are exactly the same (symptom wise) so hopefully it doesn’t mean the worse. But if you know yourself - can you not just stop and not tell? How would anyone know?!

Namely because I’m a terrible liar! The clinic does check up calls and I’m sure I’ll say something ... and also because last time I had an early bleed (Day 10) so I was going to ask them to test my progesterone levels but I can’t really do that if I’ve sneakily stopped!

It’s definitely not period pain- it’s more like a burning/searing sensation? I had some pretty extensive second degree burns a few years ago and I’d put it about on par with that sensationwise so it doesn’t feel like it’s a good thing to be happening !

I fully got af whilst still on cyclogest and lubion last time but my clinic still advised me to continue. To my surprise it turned out to be a bfp on otd although, later I found out it was ectopic. I had decided to carry on until otd as I didn't want that 1% of doubt to torture me or to feel like the clinic could hold me accountable. It was horrible continuing but I'm glad that i did.

I’m so sorry you had that experience :(

Apparently, most late implanters don’t make it in the longer time - which is also a factor in my decision. I think I would find that even harder than I’m finding this...
