Melatonin for IVF

My dr has recommended I take some to improve egg quality but I'm slightly worried as the website I bought them from had lots of warnings about not taking them if you're trying to get pregnant. Also I'm concerned about relying on something to help me get to sleep. Has anyone else taken it for IVF treatment? Was it addictive?

I took melatonin for my last ivf. It’s not addictive at all. If just helped you drop off at night and not be as wakeful. Unfortunately for us the don’t take if you’re getting pregnant warnings are for those with no issues who might be taking it and not know they’re pregnant for a while. I stopped taking it after egg collection so no impact if I had been pregnant (round failed) I know there’s always a chance for a natural pregnancy if you’re taking it in the months leading up to ivf but unfortunately the Likelihood of that happening is smaller than the potential benefit of taking melatonin for ivf so I took it and just made sure I monitored my cycle. I planned to take a test if my period was late just in case but it always came on time. Good luck.

I have taken it in the past, I bought it in a supermarket in the US, but not for anything fertility related and it wasn't addictive.

I have read about the benefits of taking this in 'It Starts With The Egg', but I thought you couldn't get it without a prescription in the UK. It is something I am definitely going to ask the consultant about.

Thanks, guys. Definitely no chance of me conceiving naturally as I'm doing IVF as a single lady. Goldilocks I got them through an online pharmacy called Dr Fox - they issue a prescription for you. First time I've used them, the reviews looked good.
